So if it wasnt for this post no one in this forum would have known about the intended removal of SP cap.
CCP has to be more communicative with the gamers. Not everyone is on IRC. Thats why we have the annoucements section. No mention of the SP cap removal was mentioned in the announcement section or the feedback update section.
CCP: This message is for you!
You have to be more communicative about making changes. You should not just drop in a note in IRC saying "Hey! BTW... We are doing this tonight". Open communication is about events is the success to maintaining a quality product. This way your customers (us gamers) dont get pissed off or annoyed.
It has been raised many times that the communication should improve between CCP and the gamers. This is not happening. The SP cap removal fiasco is another example of this.
Have one common place for annoucements and make sure everyone has access to it. That or atleast all the corp CEOs and directors should have access to these announcement channels. |

99% if info is passed on almost immediately. Thanks Iron Wolf Saber and others for that. If players pass on info ccp gives us they dont make go and make a thread about it themseleves.
communication is an issue but I have all the irc logs and miss most of the conversations. You aren't missing out because you are not a cool irc kid |

Agreed, CCP needs to be more direct. They do pretty well for the most part about letting us know of changes and whatnot (even if it is sometimes a bit late), but this latest SP thing is pretty bad. Us getting this kind of info from a third-party source is not something a company like CCP should be relying on (or any company for that matter).
I mean just imagine if a company, lets say Microsoft, is going to be laying off thousands of workers, and the only way they let people know is by posting a tweet saying "Hey, massive layoff of thousands tomorrow guys".
Why is it that developers seem so out of touch with the gamers they are making a game for? |

This is a fact. Free Beers and so many others before him have said that communication should be improved. There has been improvement but it still has a long way to go. We dont have any polling mechanisms or anything in that lines that would help CCP figure out what the community wants and whats good for the community.

How would you have behaved differently if you didn't know about that SP cap? If you had a hot date tonight thinking you were going to hit your cap and then go to dinner, most of the people on here are jealous of you. |

First and foremost;- DILLIGAF about SP cap? I am speaking about CCP and communication with the gamers in general.
Secondly;- I have a hot date every night and what I do depends on my mood and whether my shag buddy is on her mentrual cycle. If I am in the mood I cap her first and then work on my skill cap. If she is on her menstrual cycle I go straight for my skill cap.
Thirdly;- If everyone is jealous of me IDGAF either.

Also the developers don't seem to be on the same page. 2 have said the open beta is commercial release and 2 have said that the open beta is open beta and commercial release is later.
Which brings up the merc pack and AUR fiasco. If someone hadnt made a post, I would not have known CCP is trying to change the terms of the DLC to remove full reimbursement upon full release (which they legally can't do without giving us something of equal compensation in return, as per the terms when you purchase a merc pack or AUR)
Some dedicated forum post for new information would be nice.
I also want to give a shout out of thanks for all the players doing their best to keep everyone informed |

This would be the case where the forums got this first before IRC did. Usually when CCP makes 'announcement' posts or consideration posts where they are looking to farm opinions over a period of time they go to the forums first.
Drop hinting of things to come, changes and stressing that stuff isn't final product or its being worked on and servers crashing (as we usually poke ccp on this) is usually the IRC first information. |

My issue with communication SA is in the problem sovling part. Example is the nade threads. The people that supported a change identifed the core mechanic that was the issue. CCP was able to take that info and make a specific tweek to it. This was effective communication from the player base and didn't result in nerf hammer 3 months later
Normally the player base just says "wha wha, nerf AR's because I am not good" which tells CCP nothing and gives the no specifics. So they are left to their own to figure out how to balance it.
So, yes ccp doesn't discuss with us much but 98% of the the feedback with give them is ****. Not to mention the shear amount of scrubs that feel they are entitled to be good at this game.
As average fps gamer I have never had above 1.5 kdr in fps console games. The fact that i have between 2.5 (beers is logibro) and 5 (my alt) for kdr should tell you how bad this player base really is. Sorry but its not the gear it's the scrubs. |

Agreed Red Star dude. They should throw up some polls and get some votes on certain things. I also agree on the miscommunication aspect as well. Well said. |

polls are bad for most things like
"do heavies need a nerf?"
-Yes -No
but could be great for stuff like
" how long should an attacking corp have to wait for a defendng corp to take contract before its a win by default?"
-20 minutes -40 minutes -60 minutes -90 minutes
There is value in it when dealing with specifics but never generalities. the later I would support |

You do have a point here. There has been a lot of QQ about nerf this and nerf that with no real explanation to why it needs a nerf. While I do understand that a noob getting taken out by Duvolle is gonna scream nerf, the fact remains that he prolly landed in a match against pros. The problem is not with the noob who got shot by the Duvolle or the person weilding the Duvolle (because he worked towards it);- the problem lies with the lack of match making that put both these 2 in the same match.
This is where CCP should come up with representatives of their respective traits. Hear them out and get feedback from them. you can have a community voting system to pick out representatives in their respective traits.
Zitro once suggested that instead of having a corp battle with the CCP devs they should have a talk with the Imperfects about how to improve the game. And here is the Imperfects chance to actually help the community. Invite some of the top CEOs to the conversation and talk about the pitfalls and what needs to be improved. Forget the match with the Devs. They will get their arses kciked anyway.

I am glad you get it (but this means I will have to troll you extra hard for agreeing with me) and its the truth really.
CCP simply can not nerf the skill of players into order to balance gear. since the ironsight on AR's i hardly ever get killed 1v1 against unknown players. before anyone with AR had a chance. In turn the AR scrub crying actually hurt more then the elite players that caused the tears.
I think we need to set up a structured feed back loop with ccp. Maybe a question a day with detail a day and so we can give specifics to them and get feedback from them. Sadly, I think ccp has made it clear they really only have to talk to csm about things and we can't change that. The few ccp devs that show up in irc are normally for specific reasons and its usually CCP nullarbor asking about pefromance issues (which his his job so he tends to focus on that)
At this point in time the Imperfects want that corp battle to be at fanfest so they can get stopped for everyone to see. Streaming and all |
