I've been lead to believe that one of the biggest parts of Eve and New Eden is back stabbing and treachery. How is this suppost to happen when you can find people's PSN ID in game?
This has to be removed in a future build if CCP's "future vision" is ever going to work. |

Treachery will still work. It will have also have risk and possibly costs associated with it. |

Doesn't the PS3 friend system have an option to see the accounts of who you currently/recently played with anyway? |

Whenever I exit Dust, it doesn't show anybody I played with on it. |

I agree - When I wear a different face, I want a different name as well.
Even if new IDs can be made, I don't want to have to leave the game to start spying / report findings.
While we're on that subject... What's this about character switching in-game? |

You realize that you can make new accounts, right? I like having people identify my alts as mine.
This isn't a PC game, it's console. Part of console games are the network they are connected to. Separating this would degrade the console experience.
I might be fine if CCP added a "hide personal information" option. That way you could let people see your PSN if you want to, or not if you don't. I believe there is already a "hide personal information" option on PSN. |

for a game that dose not have friendly fair how dose this going to work? and this is not eve, new eden yes, but in no way eve on the ground.... |

I agree with this. Not only for pretending to be multiple people without relogging but as a basic safety measure.
*edit* by which I mean being able to scam or **** a player off without being spammed with messages and griefing reports. Perhaps even worse. |

+1 for having the option to hide the info or have it removed entirely.
I have kids that use my ps3 under my login as it's a family system.
If I have to explain to my wife or my kids why that message popped up
or what it means there's a problem. I shouldn't have to create a new
login or profile on my ps3 to guard my kids from stupid and juvenile idiots.
And reporting it to either sony or ccp doesn't change the fact my kids would've
already seen the message. |

Another good reason. It's not like Sony can expect families to make accounts for every member and buy the same games for each one. |

It reminds me of Demon's Souls and the World Tendency issue. It would revert you to a global average everytime you go online and some items require 100% white or dark to access. The 'solution' everybody kept telling me: Disconnect your playstation and play the entire game solo to get the items.
A game famed for it's online and I'm told to disable it to get around an obvious design flaw. I felt like the only guy on the planet who wasn't okay with this.
The reasons for player anonymity are already listed here. EVE disputes can get really nasty and people shouldn't have to deal with it outside of the game. It is NOT okay to assume people should switch to a spare account every time they play, to avoid hate mails and spam in your psn inbox. |
