I went to my own personal corp to trade isk between characters (because that is the only way atm) and when trying to rejoin my other corp I couldn't because they are at war for one week.
The corp I was in was part of a major alliance in eve, so yes that will be permedecked regardless.
Not every dust player plays eve, and knows the very elaborate rules, this could be VERY annoying for many people.
Obviously the week rule is to prevent too much warddeck hopping or other stuff, so it likely should stay for eve chars, but dust characters (who are not even registared pilots to have ships be targeted by this) should be removed from this rule being that it is annoying, will turn off newcomers.
I see if it is not fixed that perm wardecks will be on any major dust corp to **** them out of a weeks corp battles if by-chance they ever move around corps for a second. |

WTF is a war deck and why would hopping from one to another be an issue?
Since they put a week delay on it, the players must have abused it in the past. Like they removed fixing any Installation when it was being gamed. They could have just removed the reward, but nope. |

To answer your questions, the hopping is because people would leave if you decked, they would have a bunch of people join, or they would have someone in an alliance join and that adds all of the corps in the alliance to the war, as well as increasing the weekly cost of war from a few million between corps to a few hundred million for an alliance. that would drive a war out if a corp didnt want or couldnt pay the alliance war fee.
your second point, dust mercs do have a vested interest in war because war decks allow pvp in empire space which is normally pve. so dust mercs could be used to assault empire planets, with the war deck, that would normally be safe. |
