This year, I'm intending to spend -ú30 ($47.5) on DUST. My approximate aim is to accelerate skill point gain until I'm skill level 4 in relevant skills for a assualt build. Do you have a 'financial plan'?

That will probably be the extent of my spending except for the UVT's if an alternative payment type besides AUR is not introduced. I already got a year's worth so we will see. The rest of my AUR will probably go into boosters until it runs out. I determined early on that I would be willing to spend as much as I would normally spend for a new game. No regrets here.

It is currently an Aurum only item that you need in order to use voice chat on any in-game channel other than the basic Squad or Team channel. You still have text chat capability on any channel in-game though. Lots of folks are upset that CCP is basically charging players to use private and corporation voice chat. Personally I have no issue with it. The quality, clarity and capability of this game's comm system is better than any other shooter I have played in over a year. Since it is a Free-to-Play title and the comm system is not cheap, they are offsetting cost with UVT purchase requirements. At 1000 Aurum for a 30-day UVT you are essentially paying $0.50 a month ($6 per year) to use advanced comms. Well worth it in my opinion but a decision every player needs to make on their own.

It depends on how good the game is....I bought a $50 PSN card and got 110,000 Aurum for it. I suppose that could be it as far as my investment but if the game turns out to be what I've been hoping for, then I would be willing to put $50 in a year. Although, at this point, I can't see how I will spend all of the Aurum I have now. There just aren't enough items that interest me in the market yet.

However, I'm assuming that most people have a PS3 already.

If you want to chat outside of battle then you can buy a UVT or if in a corp just do what they do, or tell you to do. But it is really not too much for the UVT. Less than a meal at the mall food court or a movie ticket. For an entire year of chat in corp and custom channels... To answer the OP. Spent $60 already (cost of new game) and don't plan to spend more but we will see...

Corporation colors. Skins for tanks and trucks. Might have to spend more on AUR after all. Just to look bad ass on the field of battle while getting shot up.

Even though i started with around 300,000 aur when we migrated i plan on spending my 20 this month too if for no other reason than to support the game.

Considering how much I've spent on BF3 (game purchase, premium package, monthly server rentals), I may at least match that. Especially since bf3 is so limited. There is nothing persistent about bf3....so as long as dust has a good playerbase and dev support with new additions, I'll be supporting the game.

It would be nice if they changed the Merc Pack on a regular basis though. A new pack that contained a 30 day booster for each of active, passive, and UVT would be useful. I don't need 12 BPOs of the Dragonfly every year.

Boosters and UVT like you said, maybe some perishables and a few thousand AUR to spend at the Duster's Casino I hope will open up at some point. Seriously, something like that geared toward committed players would be spot on.
