now, maybe i'm thinking too big, (and very far in the future) but what about frigate and destroyer class ships that could be called in by command/logistic dropsuit squad leaders (one or two per team, max) as a weapons support platform on large maps. I see as the MCC's look to be essentially cruiser class, that it is at least plausible, i was thinking 15-25% MCC health, up to 6 fireports, spawn beacon, and drivable (on a flat plane, not ascending/descending)
ideas? suggestions? |

Eventually, yes. Let's think of the MCC as a giant dropship. These could be more assault based. The biggest problem I see is avoiding them being super OP. |

I would support it, however the idea won't fit. I've gone over this with others before.
EVE lore has a problem with this: Tritanium. It's been made quite clear in EVE lore that the most basic metal of starship construction, used in absolutely everything up there, explodes violently on contact with atmosphere. There is even a weapon based off of the property. And also from a gameplay standpoint - those capsuleer (EVE player) Orbital Strikes in FacWar are coming from frigate/destroyer sized turrets. There'd be simply no way to balance having that kind of firepower within 10km of the battlezone. Lastly - EVE runs on a completely different engine, which means that the games have to interact with a middleman. And I don't think an EVE player is going to want to hand over his ship to a ground soldier.
P.S. there is an issue with the size estimate - the smallest frigates are the size of a 747. The MCC is a little bigger, which puts it in between frigates and destroyers. |

well it dosent have to be made with tritanium. other basic, real world metals exist in EVE, ( http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Base_Metals ) they are high in demand, and can be made into fighter jets only unique to DUST. |

there's an issue of scale. the smallest eve ships would still be enormous next to a single dust merc. so i don't think we'll ever be calling in a catalyst.
that being said there's no reason they can't just change the name and add new vehicles later. something akin to fighters are already on the list, but as i understand it, not until well after launch. |

I'm pretty sure this guy is thinking new aircraft, not spaceships from EVE. So no titanium issue, no scaling issue. No Catalysts. This is more a gunship-like airship.
Or I may be making a fool out of myself |
