no way. smoke grenades are for infantry deployment and concealing troop movement. your thinking of IR flares or Chaff to avoid heat seeking/guided missiles |

I agree. They had these in MAG and they were fun. Plus it would give us something more tactical for our grenade slot.
However, for would these effect radar? perhaps they could claim that they have silver particles that block out all radar in their radius as well, so that people don't just focus on their minimap and keep shooting. What do you guys think? |

Yeah..smoke or why not flash bang?
Or a "Distorsion-granade"- which gives the enemy blurry sight or "slow motion-sight" when the nade sends out an electrical pulse disturbing the enemys suit. Just an idea, folks.. |

If not smoke than like Chaf Grenades...similar to radar scrambling. |

I have a hard time seeing enemies as it is.... only way i know if there is an enemy is by the red indication on the screen or by the mini map. Currently characters are silhouettes. |

I add to this thread... the Morph Field
its behavior is very similar to smoke - it makes it hard to tell what the user is or how many there are. Although it doesn't completely conceal from sight like smoke, it can be a good way to make a commander underestimate (or even over-estimate) the size of an enemy force (both of which are tactically useful). I'm thinking it would work by in-game "un-focusing" the images of those in or behind it, producing a big blurry smudge. Some information can be gleaned, but not enough to make an informed tactical decision about the target. To avoid causing eyestrain for the user, the device can either be directional or IFF-based. |

For a temporary work around until these eventually get added (if they do), you can throw up smoke using normal grenades and mass drivers |

This would be must for shotgun/nova knife scouts.
I would also say that this should drop you from radar since it gets rid of LOS. |

I got three grenade ideas: smoke grenades, chaff grenades that turn enemies radars staticy, and illusion grenades that put fake friend and foe icons on radar |

I have been using the mass driver as a smoke grenade launcher. It puts up enough smoke and flame, in addition to the damage to help keep the red berries off my heavy, and maybe pull some fire in my direction. Though if we do get smoke grenades, I want an attachment on the mass driver to shoo them out of that. |

We know about mass driver option, but it is for handheld granades. Scout with shotgun shall love it, I am sure. And my idea is smoke to be white, 0 transparency first 5 seconds and you cannot see nothing behind it. Like nowdays equivalents in armies across the world. |

As the OP said. Why not? Tactical grenades would be an excellent addition. It would also stand from many other FPS games. Most don't use anything beyond Fragmentation grenades or the occasional Flash. I know the EMP grenades are going to be awesome but we shouldn't draw the line there for what grenades can do.
- Smoke Grenades
- Flash Grenades
- Beacons (As in small designators that can be seen in the tactical map. Would be great for Orbital Strikes. Especially if they could lock on to it.)
- Sticky Grenades (Would probably be tricking to use. But slapping one of these to your favorite lil strawberry would surely put a smile on your face)
