Hey guys,
If I recall, there have been some disputes about how to make Heavies appropriately powerful with them becoming unstoppable, and I was wondering what you guys would think about this: Why not make the Heavy's shields stronger on their front than on their back?
What do you guys think? (And has this already been suggested?) |

Although it is theoretically a good idea, it has 2 fundamental flaws:
1) It doesn't fit in with the lore in any way. Not only do EvE ships not take more or less damage depending on the area attacked, but Amarrians are armor tanks. 2) It would be nigh impossible to code and implement before release. |

hey I sort of agree it's a good idea and would fix some of the problems with heavies but one of your flaws is flawed....
shield tanks have weak points in the shield so #1 is invalid. I agree with 2 though it would take a lot of coding ,even if they just adapted the code from tanks, that could be better used on other things like flaylock pistols and mortar cannons(if you thought mass drivers were bad.......) |

Well I don't know much about the lore or coding, but as for the armor tank thing that could be worked around. They could simply say that they conserved weight by making the armor thicker on the front side of the suit than on the back. It would still be the same concept, just with armor...
Also, perhaps this could be implemented post-release as an extra advanced heavy suit for those want an even heavier heavy that is still balanced. Considering how much balancing must go into things like this, giving the player a weak point on their back would quite literally allow for the balancing team to give them more defense on their front than they normally could afford.
Just something to think about... |
