Idea thread no trolls :) troll away.
Alright so I'm kinda bugged at the idea that if your in a heavy suit, or any suit, you can camp at a supply depot fit full buffer on your heavy with no logistic support and when your health becomes low, take cover behind the depot and switch suits quickly then switch back giving you once again full health. As well as, and I find it funni to watch, a team sees a tank or dropship then run to supply depot, throw on some militia swarms, kill then switch back. What I'd like to see is a 1 time switch limit or something similar to try and balance it out bit, not really sure the best solution and I'm sure alot of ppl will be mad at this post lol. Ideas for it guys? |

oooh yeah, full health thing is wierd, but fast switching for anti vehicle purposes is "tactical" and will probably stay . . . as a supply depo both are fully plausible, as it would contain both weapons/dropsuits within. . . |

I actually use this to my advantage quite a bit. Of course a few solutions to prevent this is to simply destroy the supply depots. The other is to maintain a proportional level of health b/w dropsuits so that switching classes will put on a suit with a proportional level of armor/shield damage(however this from a logical pov doesnt make much sense as why would a depot give you used suits instead of fresh new suits).
Perhaps a 30-60s cooldown before suits can be switched?
The other thing is when i do so make a switch the armor/shield actually fills up from zero and has left me exposed to nade or bullet fire(granted this window is very small).
However limiting dropsuit switching in any form would be a bad idea since that is part of the tactical utility of the supply depot they allow for on the fly realtime class/fitting switching to tackle threats as the come.
I for one would rather limit the grenade resupply rate when standing near a depot so they cant be spammed without interacting with the depot to requip a suit to get fully gear which takes about 5s on avg.
But yea in the end, spawn in with a flux/swarm loadout and blow that thing up.(It adds a nice isk bonus too). |

Hmmm def is tactical. With the health 0-100 maybe a lil longer on it, personally with my tank toon it takes abit to blow these things up. And the grenade idea is very true, I too abuse the spam by supply depot lol. |

So you are one of the bastards that destroy the supply depots... Not cool many times I have had to commit suicide because someone has destroyed the supply depot and there was nobody on my team using nanohives. |

That because most everybody uses blaster turrets and they are great at stripping shields but installation armor is very resilient to it. I find however combining accelerated or compressed blaster with compressed small rail and a militia missle launcher(i have no SP in missle turrets and dont plan to atm) tear the crap out of installations, missles seems to work on the armor much better so it worth even puttin 1 or 2 levels into small missles since the combined direct damage of those 3 things working in unison will shred most installation and tanks too! Unfortunately it requires sacrificing a small blaster turret which i like having for infantry that try to get close and AV me, but then again squadmates can easily hop out kill them and hop back in.
But in terms of soloing supply depots, try flux nades which strip off most if not all shields with one if not 2 fluxes, leaving the full force of swarm launchers to take them out or even FG i think works pretty good. All militia variants/starter stuff with dmg mods(of course then you wont have a supply depot for yourself if you blow up the only one but even for the cost of 1 life it can be worth it). |

Need something to balance em out, equip nanohives and be that guy, I always have one equipped......its standard. I'd like to see maybe 5% decrease in their health. |

I have seen a couple of heavies go 20+ kills and like 1 death by camping a supply depot. While I don't do it, I understand why it's done. Usually I have a squad member with ammo so it's not a problem... until i find myself running back to that depot... |

How to kill a heavy camping on a supply depot: smart manuevering and a few shotgun rounds. Let them camp, I'll know where to find and kill them. This is just a rant by OP, and should be dismissed as such. |

I see that at the moment they can be abused in 2 ways
Instant swapping - you follow a half dead scout in to a supply depot and you are met with a Heavy and a HMG :(
Nade spam - this is one of my fav tactics but feel dirty doing it, you can just stand there and and chuck unlimited grenades at anyone trying to get close
ok what i would do to over come the first problem, is to have a few seconds spawn time like spawning after you die . so if you like your clone is taken in to the depot and then a new one is spawned 3 - 5 seconds later
and to the second problem, i would think it would be good that you have to open the control panel of the depot to restock, so i think at the moment when you open the depot it says open fitting, here there should be an option to restock, instead of just getting stuff by being close. |
