Well, we saw this coming, PSN is undergoing maintenance,
like so:

Will people affected by these downtimes get reimbursed SP?
Perhaps this is a great reason to revisit the weekly cap idea? |

It says it will end tomorrow at 730am. That's after downtime. That's my concern. |

Yes. Well, not everyone can log in or leave their sets logged in for so long, and that's kind of a lot to expect people to do.
I think, and I'm pretty sure people will agree, that they should accommodate us on this, and not expect us to log in at crazy hours to beat DT.
In my case, I had to work before and during DT - so I would have had to leave my PSN logged in for almost 12 hours before DT.
That's a lot to expect. |

So now PSN DT is allegedly going until 10pm.

It makes sense that it is a big deal for people who paid for a booster or something and it doesn't work/they can't get what they paid for. Were this truly free to play, then no one would have anything to gripe about. Can't play? No problem, you didn't pay.
However it's so incredibly a pay to play game now, that of course it's a big issue. |

Have another update for you all. Apologies that the maintenence is taking longer than the original estimates. I know the wait is frustrating, but thank you for your patience on this.
PSN Maintenance Update 3: Update: PSN maintenance is requiring more time than expected, and is now expected to complete tonight, Jan 18th, Friday.

I wasn't so much concerned with my precious SP, so much as calling this a cause for CCP to readdress daily caps since this could very much be a persisting issue :( |

On a side note, myself and a few others are clearly logged in here and posting. However any attempt to connect to PSN in DUST, or any other game, let alone from the front end, fails with the "Sony Entertainment is currently undergoing maintenance" bit.
I think the solution is quite simple. WHEN people are affected by this, and logs will show; CCP could reimburse the sP ammount for the day they missed. The kills, the tears, and the ISK are gone with the wind; however with a system that requires you to log in daily, not allowing you to log in - clearly SP reimbursement is the answer.
In EVE ppl complain about SP reimbursement all the time, but they don't get it because that's not how EVE works. Here, however, we are dependant on SONY to let us log in. I'm quite certain DUST is running fine, but PSN is not. Their forrums are ablaze with people crying over this right now.
