Hey guys, I've been looking on the foums an wasnt able to fine a recent topic about this, Permanent Weapons..
Why isnt there any?? We have Permanent suits that are a one time buy with Aur (An I have all of em) why not weapons? I bought the merc pack and that gave us a nice little weapon to have fun with oh, and its permanent..
I think its only fair If i wanna spend money on the game I should be able to buy weapons and keep them, Although most of you Free 2 Play/ Non hardcore players would scream thats Pay2Win... If I want to spend money an support a game I should be able to buy the weapons you get with my money and keep them.
This wudnt be Pay2Win.. The SMG we get with the merc pack is a Permanent weapon completly balanced (I'd say it needs a Buff but considering it was free for me I have no reason to argue) showing we can have permanent weapons in the game.
Idk if this is something they plan on doing or if i missed something in the market but I have yet to see them and would be disappointed if I didnt see them...
Permanent Suits such as the "Raven" (My fav) are about 16,000 Aur so I can see a reasonable price for a Permanent gun at about 11-15,000Aur. And at about 5-10 bucks for a gun the company is still making a good amount of money... An arguement could be made that, that then if the guns where permanent that us players would just buy that one gun and be done... However, Just like Call of Duty we soon grow tired of the same gun and will be back(If we chose) 2 buy a new gun.. This would also in term give way to Content updates.. Adding new guns could count as "new" content and make the player base happy.
Sorry if this just seems like a wall of text, I just wanted to get my full side on it.. Debunk the arguments "F2P" users would have. And show that it would also make it easy for CCP 2 make content updates..
ANYWAAYYZZ, Tell me what you think.. Do you agree or disagree???? I love debateing and I want to see Permanent Weapons in game! |

They are called BPOs that you can buy for AUR, and they are militia-only for now.
- There was a type 1 assault rifle BPO that was given out awhile back called the Exile. Still kicking myself for missing it.
- Even in a FTP game, there needs to be a system in place to get people to pay real money or the game will fail. The trick is to not give those that pay too much of an advantage over those that don't while still satisfying the paying customers. |

Right, Thats why I prose we should be abe 2 buy the same type of guns that everyone uses just be able to have a one time buy.. And even if we could buy "Aur only" guns that there not Over powered and are balanced right. |

A secondary market will be added to Dust in the near future that will allow players to sell salvage and unwanted gear to other players. A lot of AUR purchased gear will find it's way there eventually, meaning newer players can buy those guns with ISK instead. Some BPOs could end up on that secondary market, too. It's up to the seller. |

Then this just proves that BPOs as this game calls it can an should be put into the game as a normal market gun not just an event like the "exile" was. |

And then everyone will be running with infinite Prototype loadouts, making the money/power balance obsolete. Which will make the market worthless because sooner than later everyone will already have the best gear in BPO's. The game already has a specific economy in mind, what you are suggesting will ruin it. |

BPOs here don't work like they ought to given their namesake. Unless that changes, all BPO, even for militia gear, are 'broken' to an extent.
We should have to do noncombat mining to fuel our Blueprints... not just BPO mind you. Make people do a mining game to fight, and you can sell you excess to the richer players who can't be bothered with it (AKA people who bought the BPOs). DUST Mining Corp has a reason to exist now :D |

Agree with The Cat. The system that is described in the OP is the basis of many other shooters where supplies are not a mechanic of the game. It is a short simple shooter - many brought me hours of enjoyment - this is a different type of game. A different mentality. Having to choose what gear one would want to use is a battle is an emotional descision as one could be killed in an instant or make a big difference. It is part of the draw of the game.
Perhaps there may be a special BPO once in a while with game progression... but that is a big discussion about the economy and more that what I wish to post. |
