I'm always puzzled that so many people seem to assume the people they see doing stupid things are going out of their way to be stupid, forgetting that at some point they did lots of stupid things themselves. I, for instance, have attempted to drive a LAV like twice, and have found it to be the most ridiculously awkward and poorly-implemented driving system of any game I've ever played. So if you see me attempting to drive a LAV, yeah, you're going call me a blueberry. I myself find it sad and hilarious. BUT, I am trying. I think we can all agree that the definition of a blueberry (or a scrub, or a noob) is "someone who is less competent than I am." Which means that, yes, someone somewhere is calling you a blueberry right now.

Another way of looking at the Dunning-Kruger Effect is the saying, "The more you know, the more you realize you don't know." which would be the converse of the effect. This is, as the wiki article points out, an example of a cognitive bias, which we all have innately, by way of owning a human brain. The specific traps that cognitive biases lead us into, are also called logical fallacies. To deny that we are immune from any of the long list of biases is folly, just as taking someone's word, just because they are literate and use fancy words... tl;dr sh*t talkers sound like idiots.

I think the reason we bash on noobs so much is because we think we are better than them. Which maybe the case in this game, but they're just getting started out. Who knows, they may end up doing some major ownage on your a$$ and then you'll be the "blueberry". Also, they may be a noob in DUST but who knows what they are capable of in another game. BUT..LOL..Blueberries are annoying at times, specially when then jump around all over the damn place like some C.O.D. kid.. So in the end, put your pride away and help a fellow player out. Who knows, he may end up saving your a$$ from loosing your most expensive dropsuit. Then who will you thank? the noob. ....stupid noobs... lol...
