G IA N T members and leadership have been discussing the need for the Dust community to come together in further celebration of reaching Tranquility and the fast approaching open beta.
The night of extended down time for the TQ migration a few of us got together in the Event Horizon Lounge (dressed in drop suits of coarse) sat at the bar and shot the breeze with some other Mercs. I decided to put out a twitter call for anyone to join us but with the instancing in PSHome if you came out we likely missed you. After some childish avatar dance contests and posing for photo ops we hit the bowling alley and then on to our club house.
After sitting around our war room, arranging furniture and geeking out on Dust chatter an idea struck us...
G I A N T presents to you the beta testers that on the eve of open beta as many Mercs as we can gather collect in PSHome for a flash mob.
So on the night of the 21st take some time off from the SP grind, get your party hats on and let's give OUR game a little pat on the back. Get on in the Event Horizon Lounge, play some games of Slay to grab your favourite Drop Suit, practice your 'running man' and 'robot' for we will party like its YC1999. Consider this a community wide slosh op, all Mercs and Devs are welcome, put aside corp rivalries, forum QQ and let's celebrate how far we've come and all we have to look forward to.

Monday January 21st 10 pm Est / 03:00 Gmt
Pre-drinking will be in the Event Horizon Lounge at 10 pm Est, the owner still owes me ISK on an old bounty so the Quafe is on the house. For a seat at the bar or a booth table I would recommend calling ahead for a reservation as the staff has said they expect a busier than normal night with the number of Mercs interested and the turn out is usually high anyways with it being Karaoke Mondays. I expect we'll mingle for a bit, enjoy some hor d'oeuvres and chit chat on the current OP Dust items and players. Once the fashionably late have arrived and the not-in-the-know patrons have changed into Dust Drop Suits it'll be off to the races so to speak.
Look for tomorrow's update to explain how we'll make sure we are instanced together in the same Event Horizon Lounge and a mini PSHome guide for those that need it.
Remember to spread the word in game and local chat.

Alright Mercs two more sleeps until we deploy into PSHome and execute our roam of tomfoolery. Need I remind you that Concords presence is strong in the Sony region and the instancing of PSHome is designed to prevent the type of mass invasion that this Op calls for. To that end G I A N T techs have been hard at work developing new advances in Cynosural Field Theory that would allow a new grade of jump clone to act as a beacon. All Mercs on active duty for this Op should have their mission prep done and be ready to deploy by following the mission brief below.
Update your PSHome client. If you have never logged into PSHome before take a minute to make your avatar.
If you do not have a Drop Suit outfit to wear on the night then head to the Event Horizon Lounge, turn left at the bar and head into the room with Slay. Play a round of Slay, you do NOT have to win a round, simply hit L1 ending your turn until the match ends and you will be awarded a Drop Suit.
A brief guide to PSHome
Start - opens your main menu, from here you can go to Navigate to move between spaces, Social is where you can connect with
your friends and make a Group (limit of 8)
Triangle - allows for free-text chat, if using a keyboard you do not need to hit Triangle to text
R1 - brings up the gesture menu
R2 - hold down to use your headset for voice-chat, this ONLY works in Groups
Dpad - will bring up your text chat channels, I recommend sticking to local, after all part of why we are there is to promote DUST
Now as far as getting around the instancing I've created the PSN ID GIANT_Flash_Mob. A friend request should be sent to that ID so that under the Social tab you can select to Go To that friend. While anyone wanting to be a part of this event should send a FR if you are planning to go with a bunch of corp mates as a group only one you NEEDS to have GIANT_Flash_Mob on your friends list, consider them the 'leader' of your group and you can just Go To that friend.
If you are already on Twitter great, if not I highly recommend it or at least have your Group leader on. I've made the account @GIANT_Flash_Mob to facilitate moving between spaces, announcements and dealing with any problems that come up. Following @GIANT_Flash_Mob is strongly suggested to help this run as smoothly as possible.
One more minor update tomorrow, hope to see as many Mercs out as possible. Lets crash PSHome.

Lounge was just where we kicked it to start off on migration night. Absolutely NO intention of this being a static thing...we'll own the hub and then take over PSHome One District at a time until Planetary domination is achieved and SOV flips ;) If enough are down for this I'ld love to see us fill the hub before trolling off elsewhere.
While we will be doing recon for fun places to go before the event I'm by no means a PSHome expert so if anyone has any location suggestions by all means let me know. |

Or a free 30 day booster.

Cool idea.
I've never been on PSHome though so is it easy 'to get' in to the Event Horizon Lounge or whatever place else?
Do I have to walk around there or can I just somehow teleport to places?

Edit : anyone able to confirm voice comms works in PS Home? According to the internet R2 is the push to talk button, but I have never used comms in there. |

R2 for push to talk is correct. When I post up details tonight I'll try and write a bit of PSHome primer (I'm not expert but I had to figure all this stuff out so it should help). |

A few things...
1.SEN is down for maintance ( old PSN) so home is down.
2. Home is not a ghost town, go one every few weeks and there are plenty of people on and crap to do.
3. Tell Zion Shad bout this (zion tcd leader) he does a lot of things in home and has a club house,plus he is a good planner with a large corp.
4. Sooner the time frame is known the better
5. Sounds good, flash mobs are all sorts of fun |

Originally we got a new suit every week for playing Slay, win or lose doesn't/didn't matter. We got a total of 4 suits. A new one each Monday. An Assault, Heavy, Logi & Scout. Each from a different race, Caldari, Amarr, etc. Got all 4 & the drone, I'm definately down for this. Make sure to post the time in most major time zones. Would hate to miss it. |
