Not with two 3% mods it won't be. The advanced burst with 3 damage mods is, however. The burst AR is unique in that the ROF increases for the enhanced models. I ran an Allotek with 3 damage mods at the end of the last build and it was insane how much damage that thing could put out. Although it left me paper-thin and was too expensive for anything other than lolz.
Long story short the advanced burst with maybe 2 complex damage mods can be pretty beastly if you know you're going to be engaging at the maximum range for an AR. For normal CQC they're kind of crappy, though.
As to the OP the Breach is good at hip firing and the Tactical has a small clip? I guess? I dunno, they're about as useful as the assault HMG.
You shouldn't have to run damage mods to make a weapon deadly. I've been playing DUST since pre-replication, and have never ran damage mods. I've consistently held a 10+ KDR with multiple 70+ kill games as an infantry player on every build of this game. Damage mods are honestly for sissies that don't have much gun game, and can't strafe to win a gun fight. If i had my way damage mods never would have existed for any weapon in this game, because they destroy any real sense of weapon balance.
The passive bonuses acquired by SP is more than enough to put people down. It's a bit ridiculous that the only AR worth using is the standard variant. All the other AR's are downright terrible, and basically worthless.
The burst AR needs to be a THREE ROUND BURST, LOW DAMAGE, WITH LITTLE TO ZERO RECOIL.
the breach AR has been worthless since post E3. The breach AR needs HIGHER CLIPSIZE, INCREASED RANGE, and an INCREASE IN DAMAGE if CCP for whatever reason decided to keep the stupidly slow RoF.
The Tac AR became the weapon of skilled players after CCP decided to nerf the creodron. Kids cried mod controllers, when they were getting killed by people using damage mods with it. The Tac AR currently needs a reduction in recoil.
BTW CCP bring back the camera for all the AR's your half assed ironsights are still ********.
