Before the sp roll back that occured not that long ago, me and close firends had some really entertaining times running aound in militia gear. You would surly get roflstomped many times and we did'nt mind. After the sp roll back and having starting to set everyting up as we used to before the sp roll back, we feel as the game have changed a bit. It's not that we don't enjoy a challange, but our survivability has gone down the drain. Today is a good example, I don't know how many times i spawned (ambush) rigth infront of a hostile. So my question is, what happend between before and after the sp roll back? I want the feel it had before the rollback! Since it somehow doesnt feel the same way as it did. For me its not that much sp to talk about, so just blaiming the 3-4 mill of xp diffrence seems a bit off. |

Solution - Don't play Ambush.
The spawns have ALWAYS been messed up on Ambush, like the 6months it took to fix hit detection, i suspect it takes 6months+ for Ambush spawns. |

Then don't ***** when you spawn inside an enemy or 2ft away from 2heavies and 3 assaults. Skirmish would be fun if your average bluedot had some shred of common sense on how to play the game type. |

The new system is both good and bad:
The Good: It used to take three to five guys of my "skill level" to kill an Imperfect but now?? if its one on one its a tossup on who dies and its been fun killing a few Imperfects and GG to them.
My KDR is now above one even when I am just running militia/starter/basic fits militia mods.
The bad:
The grenade spam with the idiotic panic button. A 400 hp MILITIA grenade kills a heavy in an ISK T1 basic heavy suit?? 100 shield and 800 armour.
That math makes NO SENSE! "thanks" to CCP.....bah!! |

Man, my intention is not to roflcopter an argument on whats this and whats that, but to get awarness on a feel of prefrence in what was, compared to what is atm. |

So I think whats going on -
We have 3 really really bad maps in the Ambush rotation. They are the ones called "ambush intense" internally at CCP I think.
What they are is 2 formerly good maps that have had their redlines moved inwards making them too tight for their original design -
ie The rocket pad map and the "plateau" map (the one with the table in the middle)
and the "new" map
Which is the just the old manus peak "bowl" surrounded by a few rocks sometimes called "asian game show".
All 3 of these maps encourage a VERY teamfire/blobbing play style.
People are forced together into very tightly packed groups.
You are continually forced to choose between shooting 2-3 different groups of player team firing at you at any point in time from wildly different areas of the map. Very little cover to be had, even if you are careful.
There is almost no time to let your shields recharge or even reload.
Formerly ambush had some nice roaming that occurred. You would roam the map and get in 1 v 3s or 3v4s or whatever. You could reload and let your shields recharge between fights.
Now there are also 3 OTHER maps in the ambush rotation.
Skyfire, Comms and Biomass.
All 3 of these are good maps with "Intense" action. However they are different. They have more cover and interesting areas to fight through. You aren't getting team fired from 3 directions.
Unfortunately these 3 maps SEEM to be getting selected rarely by the battle server. I assume this is leftover from when they had very bad performance in previous builds.
My belief is the really poor map situation is what is causing the bad attitudes on the forums etc.
Existing problems with gameplay are being made worse by these maps.
Fix - move the redlines back out on rocketpad and plateau.
Rebalance the rotation occurrences of comms, biomass and skyfire.
Bring back Manus Peak ambush. People moaned about it but it was more fun than what we have now.
I'm ambivalent about the manus peak rocky bowl map/asian game show map. If the other maps redlines were fixed and the rotation fixed it could stay (even though I don't think its a good map).
