I wouldn't expect the Zitro's to try and micro-manage the opinions of their corp members, i believe in free speech as well, but when you have the leaders of the corps who do not have a voice of reason and a friendly attitude and further the trolling and encouragement of bad forum discussion, well that is not helpful. I like a lot of the imperfects but a few rotten eggs can spoil the batch. Its funny because EVE is the same way Goon was hated for being on top, but because of the way they behaved, even in their decline they are still the most hated. The other unmentioned side effect of this kind of behavior is how it divides the community over time. It benefits nobody in the long run to be an ass on the forums, especially when you are high profile in the game. Im not saying bend over and take it from trolls and idiots, or that you shouldn't troll people at all, rather when a serious discussion is going, even if you think its stupid, respond in kind. That will garner you a lot of good faith and a lot more power and say.
Took the words right out of my head. Wanted to mention the Goonswarm similarities before but I actually know some Goonswarm guys who are really cool, lol. |

The problem is that even people who think they are making a serious post frequently start it with "you just want to stomp newbs in your proto", "IMPS are just qq'ing because...", "everyone hates IMPS because..." "IMPS should post like this and not this..." etc. etc.
There are a lot of trolls and idiots in these forums, most of them don't even realize they are.
You giving advice like this to a diverse group of players with a diverse posting style (some with decades of playing competitive games) is actually pretty silly and patronizing.
Think before you yourself post if you want these discussions to go well. |

Goons don't QQ about game mechanics being broken. they don't whine about KDR. They laugh uproariously and mock people relentlessly for talking and doing things the way Imps do.
Bluntly the few known Goonslobs and TEST dummies in this forum comport themselves with a lot more dignity and creativity than the imperfects.
Hell the ones on the EVE forums do too, even when they're doing their "nerf hisec" spiel. |

quite a while, and I've been beyond caring whether people like me for years. Internet people are not real people until I meet them face to face. And I never applied to the imps because I have about as much interest in joining Imps as I do Gewnz/TEST.
