This has been asked and answered specifically, time and time and time again, here is just the latest article in which that question is answered. Note: THE FINAL sentence.

This article is about the open beta. So far all that we know they could just mean that our stats won't be reset for the open beta.
All of the talk about last reset could just have been the last reset before the game's release. I just want confirmation from CCP |

the game will be practically released once it hits open beta , so the difference is a mere 10 days or so if i remember correctly. not that imbalanced if you ask me. . . |

100K SP is pittance compared to the amount of hard freezes, lags, disconnects, frustrating beta testing moments etc etc etc that we had to deal with. |

100K SP is the final straw. That's going to put us yet another day ahead of those that follow us. Those scrubs will never be able to kill me now.

We're possibly going to be separated from all the noobs via matchmaking anyway. I don't see what all the fuss is about us being ahead, and it's probably why they're going to give us that 100k - to push us even further away from them via matchmaking. |

The game goes into open beta on 22 Jan. That is indistinguishable from release as far as free-to-play games like this goes. So the only advantage we closed beta people will have over the masses is the headstart we've had since the TQ migration/wipe. The clock does not start on Dust when it is "released", it starts 8 days from now when anyone who wants to play Dust has the opportunity to do so. |

Unless they get matchmaking working correctly, which hopefully should keep the new players in their own corner.

No, if this was the case no one new would ever be able to play Eve Online. Because guys who started from the beginning are like what 8 years ahead of people who would want to start playing now?
This is a quote I found in a forum regarding this train of thought, only it was directed towards Eve online, due to the VAST amount of skills, and the years it would take to acquire them in Dust, it still holds mostly true:
One of the common complaints(or at least they were common back when I was still playing... in EVE is that since the devs are always expanding the skills in the game, and since skills are learned in real time(and thus, unaffected by grind), new players will never ever be able to catch up with veterans who have been playing since the beginning. What these people don't realize is that, after a point, the advantage gained by veterans becomes one of breadth, not depth. That is, for any one role there are only so many relevant skills, and new players that do their research and focus can max out a role of their choice, thus becoming just as good(at least in the skill set) as any veteran. The veteran will just be able to wear more hats than you |

exactly ppl not thinkin why CCP doin this even if there is a reset newbies will get slaughtered still by vets we have knowledge of the game that is way more valuable than being on even ground the ppl here now will have the SP to be matched with ppl in their bracket while actual newbies will play against other actual newbies
think before bitching unnecessarily guys |
