Post tips for blue dots in this thread so they will be more of an asset to the team and help win the battle.
Tip 1: When spawning in, if you see more than 3 blue dots sniping in the hills, don't spawn in as a sniper. They have it covered and you'll be more effective on the field capturing letters.
Tip 2: When a letter and a CRU are red, capture the CRU FIRST and then the letter. This will stop the red dots from spawning in on you when you're defending the letter as it turns blue. The LAST thing to be captured is the resupply. Many hack this first for some reason. It only announces your location to the red dots and you've lost the element of surprise for the CRU and letter.
Tip 3: After CRU and letter are captured, sweep the area for red dot uplinks.
Tip 4: If your gun game sucks, you still can be an asset to the team. Run as a logi and repair blue dots, run a speed scout suit and drop hidden uplinks for your squad, man a turret, run a ghost scout suit and hack behind enemy lines or jump into a LAV and transport people around and run red dots over.
Tip 5: Put an injector in your load out and use it. But, for heavens sake, don't pick up a blue dot in the middle of a fire fight. Kill the red dots first and then pick up the blue dot.
Tip 6: If your team is redlined, get on a speed suit with an uplink and go for a run or call in a LAV and break thru the line. If you choose to go sniping when red lined, don't be surprised if you get a LAV placed on your head.
Tip 7: Take your time spawning in and review the map closely. Intel is key and you team could use it. call out tanks, LAVs, red dot blobs and any incoming hardware.
Tip 8: Drive down to any local store and purchase a cheap USB/BT mic, your squad and team mates will thank you. It's only $20 or so and well worth it.
Tip 9: If you see a big battle raging in one location, it's probably really quite on the other side of the map. Sneak on over to the quite side and steal an unprotected letter.
Tip 10: When spawning in, if you see more than 3 blue dots sniping in the hills, don't spawn in as a sniper. They have it covered and you'll be more effective on the field capturing letters. I put this in twice, because it needs to be said twice.
Be a blue dot team player and you just might get noticed and picked up by a corp. |

Excellent post +1 I might add that sticking with your squad is also key. Move together.
The only thing over powered in this game is team work and communication. (hey I think I just found my forum sig ^) |

A few more tips :
Tip 11: Prepare yourself a militia scout suit with a codebreaker. Use it at the beginning of a match to get objectives sooner.
Tip 12: Don't shoot the enemy MCC. Just don't do it.
Tip 13: When you're alone in an enemy objective, use your head, because at 5vs1, your fingers won't do much. If you know you can't capture a CRU or an objective, get another structure (like a turret or a supply depot). Hide yourself. Watch as an enemy come by to capture it again. Shoot him in the back (very important. Scout suit with shotgun is best for this). Hide and repeat.
First it's fun, second it distract the enemy team, third it nets you war points that might be used for an OB. Or will give you more SP/ISK.
Only do it if you've applied Tip 6 before.
Tip 14: Don't drop your uplinks to close to the objectives, or enemies will see it and destroy it. Don't put it too far though, or it will be useless. Also, put it within cover. The best trop uplink is the one hidden in an angle, in a place with few people passing by, offering at least a little protection against spawn killing.
Tip 15: Stick remote explosives on captured objectives.
Tip 16: Stay close to cover. Run if you have to cross an open area. It may be obvious, but it needs to be told.
Tip 17: If you're caught by surprise (flanked or by behind), don't try to turn back. Run to the closest cover. Weapons in Dust kill you fast enough that you don't have that much of a chance to retaliate. Unless you run to a cover, wait for your shield to reload, and your friends to save you.
Tip 18: Aiming is easier if you don't move. But you want to move if they're shooting back. So you don't want them to shoot back at you. So what you really don't want is a fair fight. It's fine, because it's the way others will mostly kill you. (UNFAIR FIGHTS ARE OP, NERF THEM !!1!1!!!1!!!!)

Tip 19: If you're a gunner in a tank and the tank pulls up to a red letter and there's no other blue dot around, jump out and hack the letter. The tanker will protect you the best that he can, but like hell if the tanker is going to get out of his spendy tank and hack. Do your job, your suit is cheap, the tank is not.
Tip 20: Don't steal other blue dots spendy rides. That's just plane rude. If it's a free LAV and no one's around, then that's fair game... but then again, why don't you just call in your own?
Tip 21: When you're a gunner in a dropship, don't hit the side of the ship with your firing. It will cause the ship to sway and will freak out the pilot, thinking he's being attacked/hit by red dots.
Tip 22: If you're a passenger and/or a gunner in a dropship and the dropship is over a red letter, jump out and capture the letter. yes, even the gunners, because the guns on the dropship are worthless now, you're more valuable on the ground getting the letter.
Tip 23: Don't be afraid to run into the red dot redline and hunt down the red dot campers. With practice and a speed suit, this past time can be most enjoyable.
Tip 24: use cover to your advantage. Stay behind boxes, armored handrails and other obstacles that allow you to fire over while decreasing your hit box. |

Tip 25: If you see people camping an enemy spawn location, like a red CRU, do not cap it. Just camp and enjoy the kills. You're depleting the other side's clone reserves.
Tip 26: If the enemy team is camping a spawn, call it out. Also, do not spawn on the camped location.
Tip 27: Always move. This is true for all FPS games. Don't stop moving to shoot (maybe unless you're a sniper). You'll just get wtf owned.
Tip 28: Aim for the head, especially with weapons like scrambler pistols. The damage modifier is different for different weapons. For instance, scrambler pistols do 450% more damage to shields for a head shot and 350% to armor. If you're going against someone who aims for your torso, you should win if you are shooting them in the head. Also, if you kill another player with a head shot, that player cannot be revived by a teammate with a nanite injector.
Tip 29: Try to avoid noob weapons like shotguns. Even though you might get kills, your gun game will not improve. The exception to this might be if you are going for vehicles, and have put all of your points into vehicle related skills. A shotgun at close range can destroy a swarmer or forge gun.
Tip 30: Be ISK efficient. Earn ISK. If you find yourself running low on ISK because you keep losing expensive gear, do not buy expensive gear until you are a better player.
Tip 31: If you suck, and your clones are low, do not spawn. You shouldn't feel bad about dying, but you are just hurting your team if your team is in danger of getting cloned.
Tip 32: Join a good corp. Bad corps will give you bad advice. Be weary about corps who only pub stomp in good gear and avoid doing corp battles against good corps.
Tip 33: If you're a gunner in a tank, do not shoot the tank with the turrets. Turrets are for shooting other players.
Tip 34: If a tanker is using small militia turrets, you should not use them. You should be more effective on the ground, or fulfilling another role. Tankers may not put good turrets on their tank for PG/CPU fittings. A good tank is better than a good small turret. They also might get blown up all the time or just be using a standard tank, and you don't want to get in a tank like that. Some tankers do not like people in their tank. Personally, I usually like to have nice turrets on my tank.
Tip 35: If you are in a small turret, and other players are attempting to blow up the tank, it is sometimes a good idea to get out of the tank and kill them. If they have swarms, they'll only have a sidearm to use against you. Also, most AV players focus on the tank, and are easy kills for people on foot. This is one of the advantages to having a tank on your side, but it only helps if you use it.
Tip 36: If a tank is damaged, and you have an armor repper, you should repair it if you can. Most reppers only work for armor, so you won't be able to give them additional shield. There are shield reppers too, but those are best on vehicles. Unfortunately, the logi vehicles cannot outrep even militia AV damage. That is a big reason why there aren't many logi vehicles in games. It's usually more helpful to just have another HAV on the field, but sometimes a logi LAV is helpful. I know shield tanks really <3 those guys with remote shield boosters in LAVs.
Tip 37: Many players only go for kills. Some simply get kills while going for objectives. You should be one of the players who gets kills while going for objectives.
Tip 38: You're a blue dot and everyone hates you. Don't expect to be helped or saved.
Tip 39: If you are a team player, most players will still not help or save you. This is why everyone hates blue dots. Just because they aren't doesn't mean that you should stop being a team player. If you help others play, you will be picked up by a good corp. Then you aren't a blue dot anymore.
Tip 40: If you solo queue, check and see if you are squad leader. If you are, hold R2 and then press down on R3 (the plunger). A menu will appear with different options. The best option is to select the defend command. Look at the other members in your squad, and place the defend command on the best player in your squad by pressing R1. This gives you extra points, him extra points, and you'll make everyone happy. If you can't keep track of this, give squad leader to someone else. The defend command needs to be reapplied if the player who has it dies.
Tip 41: If a tank is blowing up a supply depot, do not hack it. Tanks do that because the other side will use them to their advantage. You might gain something by hacking the depot, but the tank gains something if the depot is gone. Tanks are usually more valuable for the team than an individual player.
Tip 42: If the other side has a tank, make sure you use the supply depots to your advantage. He is a noob for not blowing them up, or had ****** blue dots on his team who captured the depot so he cannot destroy it. Yes, this means that the enemy tank can blow it up, but it also means that you can use it. It's useless if the other side controls it, so even if you control it for a short period of time, that is better than not controlling it at all.
Tip 43: Objectives are more important than supply depots and turrets. Sure, you might get some wp for hacking that depot, but you're not helping your team as much as you could be. You'll just be another bad blue dot.
Tip 44: Most advice and "tips" on forums will make you a bad player. I know this statement is ironic, but if you're a starting player you should ignore most of it. So far, I believe that most of the tips in this thread are helpful, but it is definitely better to listen to your corp if it is a good one. |

Tip 45 - Sniping is cool. You have to actually squat (triangle button) to aim. Otherwise you cannot. If you are running or upright just hip fire. It is faster and can one shot almost everybody.
Tip 46 - Sniping is stupid. Sitting around looking for Reds to be coming from their MCC is stupid if a Blue is fighting for their life and Reds are closing in. Kill Them. Or, remove their shields. One less Blue clone lost and a +25 for Kill Assist is better than waiting for Reds that aren't dying because you aren't killing them.
Tip 47 - Sniping is boring. Quit staying in exactly the same place. Find a different spot. Even fifteen meters away. It might give you a better angle into the letter objective.
Tip 48 - Sniping is accuracy. Being able to snipe a Hacker for two different objectives can free up two squads to crush another letter objective.
Tip 49 - Snipers are fast. Run your skinny little legs off, behind cover, never in a straight line, following the Red Line and get behind the action. Hack an objective. Run like the dickens and get away. Hopefully you have enough sense to pick a new spot that will let you splatter Red Dots trying to take it back.
Tip 50 - Snipers don't have friends. If speed isn't working use a Logistics Suit. Two equip slots let you have an Injector and a Hive. Or a Hive and an Uplink. You are slower so add Profile module to drop your scan profile, it uses 0 PG.
Tip 51 - Snipers need to run a long time. Don't boost your sprint speed, boost your stamina (green bottle mod). You can run for 25% longer while speed mod (red bottle) only increases sprint speed by 5%. And the non-blue print version increases your recovery by 50%. If you are far enough in front of everyone, you will have enough time to hack. Then run away. Decide if you prefer to sprint faster or for longer. Try both.
Tip 52 - Snipers have huge heads. Rounds can find them from far away and from an amazing array of weapons. Don't stand up and wave your big stupid head as a target. It will work. You will die. Crouch. Sneak. Avoid. Hide.
Tip 53 - Snipers don't have to be too far away. Most sniper rifles have ranges (no skill modifiers) of 599 meters. The Farsight is good for 1000meters. It cost 30 AUR. Don't use it if you don't need it. Don't always need it. Being close enough to get some assists, kills and keep a letter objective clear helps the team. The team will remember this and not run over you with LAVs because they hate you.
Tip 54 - Snipers don't have to mooch. Carry a Hive. That means you have two. Drop one where you and another sniper, or shotgun scout can share. Then drop the other one next to an objective. Your team in a fire fight for that same objective will get auto refilled and it could save their life. Auto refills grenades, ammo, remote explosives and proximity mines. Think about that. |

Tip 55 - Running up and shooting at a Tank (HAV) will normally make the driver hate you. They will speed up. You will look stupid.
Tip 56 - Getting randomly into a HAV will put you in one of two turrets. The missile turrets don't work with spit. Use them to point to infantry and snipers (Sniper! Look There! Kill That Red!) where Reds are. Occasionally the heavens will reward you with a miraculous kill through shear diligence and constantly shooting where the Reds are.
Tip 57 - Do not shoot at either MCC. You cannot hit it with any turret or weapon you will ever possess. You will look stupid. The HAV driver will try to run over you and the rest of the team will try to help. Because that is actually raging Stupid.
Tip 58 - Do not switch seats when the Driver is out of the tank. The only reason to be in the tank is to be protecting it with blaster fire from Red infantry. Do that or get out of the tank. That is much better than being in the driver's seat after they have finished repairing their armor that you didn't help with.
Tip 59 - Learn how charging guns operate. Large/Small Rail Guns, Forge Guns, Swarm Missiles and Charge Sniper rifles all have to have R1 held down. This might be in addition to holding L1 for targeting/zoom. R1 on a Forge, Swarm or Charge Sniper Rifle will fire when released. On a Rail Gun the gun will fire automatically when it is charged. Totally different concept. That is why they call it practice. No, not even the big rail guns can hit the MCC. You will still be stupid as well as look stupid.
Tip 60 - Learn how to use the Armor Repair Tool. It is not straight forward. Watch a veteran Logi Bro at work. Watch how they will follow the Heavy equipped with Heavy Machine Gun (Heavy/HMG). While you are watching try not to get in the way. Flank anything and everything that the squad (yes, that includes you) approaches. Check your six. Look to either side and behind to make sure the Reds are not flanking your Heavy/HMG, their Logi Bro and you. You can all be dead in a heart beat. Normally you will be first.
Tip 61 - if you are in any vehicle, in particular if it is not yours, then bail out faster than a Kitten on fire when the armor gets low. If you don't have a mic bail early.
Tip 62 - If you are playing Gunner and not making a fool of your self make sure you can jump out of a tank and Kill The Red that is trying to take your ride away. Even if it means another Blue will jump in. Even it it means you die. If you save the HAV the driver will remember you. There is the possibility that you might even be forgiven for being stupid earlier in your learning experience.
Tip 63 - Gunners may not always be Gunners. if you don't pay attention to what the driver/pilot is doing you will never progress beyond Gunner however. Why did they take this route. How did they escape after having all their shields gone and half their armor? Why did they jump when the armor was at 25%? Why didn't you? Why didn't you have your mic? Do you realize, now, why you are dead? |

Random Tip with No Number: When you're running a Shotgun Scout, and there is an enemy HAV that doesn't notice you, from behind, sprint up and jump onto the tank and crouch. The turrets won't be able to hit you and someone is going to jump out, but your shotgun will dominate them in such CQC.
MOST IMPORTANT TIP!: Use and check teamchat every death. It's imperative to keep contact and update strategies.
Random Tip with No Number: Never make more than 2-3 kills in one given spot. Move on immediately and hide behind something for a while to let the heat cool off. They will be hunting for you....I guarantee it. |

Small blaster turrets may have limited ammo, but they still overheat- let off on the trigger every once in a while (especially when the RoF starts sputtering), or the heat will let off for you. Except the heat doesn't let you decide when it's OK to shoot again, and you'll probably get shot off the turret.
Prioritize targets when gunning for someone, and try to follow the driver's signals. If the driver is chasing a vehicle around, shoot at it when it's in range. If the driver isn't trying to point anything out, make sure you kill the AVers first- too many times do my gunners ignore someone with a swarm, which ultimately kills them. |

Random Tip with No Number - Snipers should be vigilant. Don't look through the scope for too long because you'll miss something and not be able to pass that intel on to your teammates.
Random Tip with No Number - A sniper's first goal should be to pass intel to teammates. A sniper's second goal should be to keep teammates safe from other snipers. Everyone hates red snipers. Save blueberries the trip of hunting them down. If you're holding that rifle, you should know where the good spots are. |

I'll have the tip #65 for you guys:
When you start a Skirmish match, forget the turrets, forget the CRUs and the supply depots, go straight for the Null cannons. By the time you've hacked the installations, the enemy has two cannons and are pressuring your own which are still being hacked, giving you a disadvantage. |
