My current method of hacking is to run up to the consul, hit every button on my controller, maybe put a few rounds into the computer for good measure, and then run away. Twice consuls I attempted to hack have gone blue right after I left them, but I am not sure if it was due to something I did.
Anyway, since I have not yet found a post on this topic, I thought it was time for a stupid noob question. |

Anyway, since I have not yet found a post on this topic, I thought it was time for a stupid noob question. And here my fellow mercs is a prime example of a blueberry. Support proper 16 man Q syncing just for these guys to end up on the "other team" instead of my team.
Yup. As Noob as they come. First consul game. I figured that if I start in the bata maybe I will be competent by the time it goes live, and hopefully the terrible k/d record from my first weeks of floundering will be wiped as well. So far I have 1 kill and probably about 50 to 60 deaths.
By the time the game goes live I hope to have a wireless headset as well for proper coordination, but for now I am just trying to learn to shoot strait and figure out the other basics.
Does this game have any mechanism for matching opponents based on a similar total count of skill points between the two sides? If not, then it should have something like that, because I imagine dealing with new players would be a real pain for the vets.
I am guessing there are three type of new players in this bata: - EVE players who canGÇÖt shoot straight. - Consul plyers who donGÇÖt know how to fit a drop suit or where to assign their skill points. - Eve players who also play consul FPSGÇÖ who hit the ground running.
I am one of those EVE players who canGÇÖt shoot straight. |

C Saunders, I have not been around long enough to answer you question. I can see however how someone with brains could pick up the technical side a lot faster than someone my age can learn the fine motor skills to aim straight rather than waging their rifle back and forth like a dogs tail.
ValGÇÖherik Dorn, it is strangely comforting to hear that there are some players even more useless than I. The first time I spawned in game I ran for cover first thing. Of course I was not very coordinated and may have run into the wall I was trying to get behind, and the spawn point was being camped so I did die three times before I managed to get out of the line of fire, but at least I try to play smart and as I get better with the controls I hope to start contributing more to my team. I almost killed a sniper this morning at about mid range with my Militia AR, so my aim is getting better. I guess he was not watching his radar, because I managed to sneak into the hills behind him.
Edit: Oh, and I forgot to thank Aeon Amadi and cranium79 for answering my question. Thanks guys. |
