EDIT: the open beta is now confirmed to be coming on the 22nd of january. Barring long DT, that is when the event will be when the 24 hour event starts, after DT on the 22nd. if you are taking part, please use this chipin counter http://i.imgur.com/w40HF.jpg on your stream page
Hey peeps! a while ago, i announced a live streamed charity event for when the NDA is lifted (viewable here)
now, we dont know exactly when the NDA will be lifted, what we do know is that it is apparently very soon (no Gäó :P ) as such I would like to invite people to take part, this is what we are going to do.
I, and a few others are going to be live streaming ourselves playing dust for 24 hours for a charity called child's play, We will be making a special page on the BetaMax site to host all the feeds to quickly see different views as we will also be doing various fun events throughout the marathon, such as destruction derby and knife only corp matches and more.
There are also some fun surprises that will be happening and perhaps running a few fundraising prize raffles.
If you are interested in streaming for the event, send an email to [email protected] when CCP has announced when the open beta will happen, ill send an email round to let people know.
I really hope this will be an awesome event and if we work together we can raise lots of money for charity!
I have been getting some emails regarding how to stream, so here we go
Basically, to stream stuff from a PS3 you really just need 2 things, a video feed and some software to broadcast the feed.
this is the most basic level and can be a lot more complicated, if you wanted you could just point a webcam at your TV and do it that way but it wouldnt be very good quality.
Ill be using an HD capture card and some software to lay video over video as well as well as using www.twitch.tv to host the feed which i will then embed in the event page. Twitch is a great service and has some fantastic tutorials on how to get started at http://help.twitch.tv

thanks, that would be awesome, one thing id like to do is get all the streamers together in one game so if a viewer wants, they can flick betwen all of them |

ah, didnt properly read, i imagine when the NDA is lifted it should be totally fine, only thing i will ask is that if you do decide to embed feeds, please have the donation counter beside it. |
