That game didn't do so well, so how 'bout CCP borrow a tiny convenience from that game and allow heavies and logis to vault over ledges. I'm not asking that scouts be able to freerun all over the place (as awesome and annoying as that would be), but so far it seems there are too many places where jumping is useless. |

For heavies, at least make it an awkward climb/fall over the railing. This would solve a lot of things, but I don't see why scouts shouldn't be able to do it. |

All dropsuit types should be able to do it. Heavies definitely need this a lot. |

Let me clarify. In Brink, The light body weight could vault over objects, scale 10 ft high ledges, slide into cover, and do Prince of Persia type stunts. Medium could climb high ledges, slide, and vault, but heavies could only vault over low ledges and maybe slide.
My point is that Brink's awesome movement system was wasted on a rushed and dissapointing game. I know its almost taboo for new games to draw too many comparisons to older titles, but I believe that as long as the new title doesn't sacrifice anything or tresspass legal boundaries, there should be open season on good ideas from games that have run their course.
Most of us have read the "take this feature fron COD/MAG/ Battlefield/ Warhawk/Planetside /Borderlands/Fallout/ Firefall !" Posts, and the responses of "why don't they have it already, its obvious" and "this isn't that game, don't try to make it that game, go back to that game if you miss it so much, is nothing original?".
I think we need to widen our reference pools.
Also, building layouts are confusing and fall damage is an overly harsh mistress.

How about just making sure the freaking fraking boxes dropped around the center structure of line harvest (when used in a Manus Peak map variant I was just in) doesn't actually block the Heavy such that there is only one way in or out.
If QA cannot verify that then let me HOLD the JUMP button to vault it, clamber over, melt it with Mr. Happy Forge, sacrifice a goat or a Red Berry but quit blocking me from going around a corner. |

I've got another idea - Why not just let the Heavy sprint right through the wall!?!? He would need a "breacher" module in his Heavy slot first - but unless the building was equipped with nano-repair systems, you would leave a nice hole in the side of a building, and whatever unfortunate suit was in his way.
Breacher module Alters the composition of dropsuit shields and armor nanites, designed to produce a massive outburst of high-energy plasma when the suit sprints. Alters sprinting servos for power and speed, at the cost of distance.
Effect: "fire" button now produces an explosive dash about 5m in front of you, and the dropsuit explodes when it comes into contact with anything during this dash. The explosion does (say 200?) damage to self, but punches clean through whatever was in the way. Clear a hole for a strike team to storm a building/room, or destroy an LAV with nothing but your armor. |

This is what I've been talking about on another thread: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19796&find=unread
Maybe you guys want to help me out? I was actually looking at some reviews for Brink when I thought about the idea myself, and I think it will simply be incredible if we can help ferry it over. |

Two points though. A.) I wouldn't mind scouts being able to do the parkour thing. That'd be pretty sweet. B.) Why can't I barrel through the obstacles like a bull >_< |

As a heavy, I look at foot high obstacle and weep. Oooooh, jump jets....not Rocketeer level, just enough to get over obstacles. |

Yeah, my Scout suit needs to be able to jump higher and do acrobatics off the trusses in Ashland.
Mobility is second to weaponry right now, so there needs to be movement interactions that help balance Mobility, Firepower, and protection. Scouts sacrifice lots of protection for more mobility but that only translates into speed right now. We need Agility in our mobility. |
