Like the title says why cant we freely select these things yet?
one of my concerns for the event today was having to constantly refresh and hope u get the correct planet
if we are to be involved in FW srsly and not just using Corp battles as a cheap gambling system as shad said then why cant we setup contracts in particular system/planet etc so those with Fleet support can actually be closeby

 Hello there,

 Feel free to read:

Currently the only way to find battles is to actually jump between districts and check. When there's a battle at a district you can see small explosions on the surface around the district. Finding battles this way is not really practical, so if you want to perform orbital bombardment you're best off working along with the DUST players to organize a time and location, either through shared corporations or other custom communication channels.

This should be improve in some point of the closed beta. Unfortunately I don't know when. ( I base this in the first word of above paragraph)

We need to have eve corps set up the contracts for us to accept, its messed up that we gamble our money when its the eve side that really sees the benefit of our battles on the ground. On top of that dust corps should get a per diem like payment to cover battle costs.

Much prefer he make mistakes trying to reach out to us then him just ignore and lock our threads.

I don't even know why I care what happens eve side at this point for faction warfare, we played some corp matches today supposedly it means something in the eve side.

But as a merc on the dust side without any eve experience it seemed like any other battle.

There is no information or Map that gives us information to know why we battle here or there?

Hopefully they will make the experience more interactive and engaging.

It is disappointing to not have many of the features we want in yet. That said all we did was move to TQ and get up and running. The actual update to the game has not happened yet.

It will be very helpful when DUST mercs can clearly decide where they are going to go fight. It will make it much easier to work with EVE pilots when that happens.

Bearing in mind though that when this all goes live and our battles are taking place on player owned planets it won't necessarily be us Dusters that choose the location. Corporation contracts will mostly be deciding that. Hopefully one if the new features they will bring in will be something akin to the Eve system, whereby you can drag the location you re in to the chat window so that everyone in the chat can click on it and 'set destination' .

At the minute all our battles are still taking place at E-RPGP. But with the scope for over 5000 locations for Eve pilots to fight over I'm sure the contracts will be coming thick and fast.

Yes we want players to be able to choose where they are fighting, there will be some rules behind this though. When? Sooner (tm), we are already working on it.

Currently I have to fly to the systems we are working on and then watch the % drop or raise to prove we are doing our job right.

In my previous life (the Real World) I was a consultant. A software Merc as it were. And I am sorry if I offend but there is no way I would accept a contract that required me to gamble. Ever. I once hammered a multi billion dollar corp because they wanted me to have a million dollar bond, in case, anyone rode in my car to lunch. Fine, I said. You will pay me $10K per ride, per passenger, each way because I am a Software Consultant not a GD cab driver. I will send the updated contract to your boss. Oh? Never mind. Okay.

From my side the EVE conversation looks like this.

Hmm. Looks like we are up against the PFBHz. Ouch, we are going to get hurt. Maybe pull off a draw or a tactical win but nothing strategic. Okay here is what we will offer: You, Eve Corp, pay for everything used in battle. MCC, Installations, Proto Gear, Every Single Thing. Up Front. Each Merc will get a fix fee for starting a match, bonuses on kills past 20, bonuses for Zero Deaths equal to two full equips used in battle. Our Corp has a 200% Fee over and above what the battle costs. Yada, yada and anything else you want since they are all space rich and spoiled rotten.

 Oh, that's too high?

See ya. I have another call waiting.
