It appears that SP is a confusing issue, I am sure in time CCP will figure out the correct formula, just don't take too long OK CCP?
SP (Skill Points) (Skill) skill is achieved by doing something for over and over, practice, training, Practice makes perfect, and the more you do the better you become at something making you eventually GREAT at whatever you are training in, your brain doesn't shut down for a week and then start up at a specific time such as (Wednesday morning) does it?
Maybe SP should be called something else like Controlled or Restricted Bonus Points, then we won't associate it with skill or training. I believe an error is being made in the SP department.

Bump the pity reward up by a multiplier of 10 or 20 but only once you use up your normal SP would seem fair, enough to keep playing and upgrading but low enough to not imbalance |

They should just make skills like EVE where it takes a certain amount of IRL time to train the skill. |

It's pretty much the reverse of that as regards passive SP.
I like the ability to gain active SP, but perhaps a lower per game reward and no cap?
Tbh I'd prefer to be able to accrue passive SP in eve the same way you do here, rather than train a specific skill as it enables you to collect points in a bank.
Number of times I've Started a skill and suddenly run into the need of a specific skill set ....

The sp cap has been changed to a daily cap instead of a weekly one. I was in the announcments section of the forums at the beginning of the week. They also breakdown how you get sp too. 1 WP = 1 SP, 1 second in the match = 5 SP or something like that. I would post the link...but I am kinda lazy. I do think the SP gains for a match are really low compared to what they used to be. It will take forever to master anything at this rate...but maybe thats a good thing. :)

The new cap is perfect. It will keep certain corps from boosting like they did in the last build.
The best way to keep buddies from meeting in game and just swapping bases back and forth for free points is to introduce a skill cap.
At the current rate players will still be able to develop at a reasonable rate, and comparable to eves current passive system. It will also help keep the playing field much more fair as people cant just "cheat" their way to an overwhelming number of sp which leaves other players, espescially new players, still able to feel like they are contributing and not getting farmed.
Players will have to learn to play and win with skill and cooperation. THis shouldnt be a problem for the hardcore players as practice makes perfect. They will just have to wait longer for that epic beast of tech 2 mad dps and earn them at a comparable rate to most of the other players.
Very much like eve. |
