I am not going to call out any corp on this thread but I did see one yesterday that was apparently boosting OBS. So I have some questions. I will explain what happened.
Played a game with a well known corp yesterday that was grouped up. I thought it would end up being a fun game with alot of gun battles but boy was I wrong. After the game starts on the 3 point map I see no red dots...none (i saw them joining but no red dots on the field). I was on the side that is a hop away from A but we took A, C and then B before we even saw our first red dot. We killed the red dots that were attacking but I noticed that I was not seeing any of the corp players......so I thought they must have left which was unfortunate. We kept all points and we kept seeing a few red dots attacking B but not very many.
After we had finally taken down the enemy MCC shields I suddenly see the corp that I thought had left. Well they were apparently still in the game!!.. Man they must have all been afk for a bit I thought. Nope I was definitely wrong......I dont know exactly how but apparently they had been boosting because they had 1.5 orbitals charged up with WPs before they ever participated in the match (I checked they had no kills). They attacked point C and when we went to defend it immediately dropped an orbital. Now no squad had an orbital on our team and this point despite the fact that we were outkilling the enemy and we had all of the objectives. Yet this corp squad already had an orbital and was close enough to another orbital that after only a couple minutes they dropped a second orbital on A.
Now our team still easily won the game but I found it ironic that apparently another way was found to boost for orbitals in the game.
So main question is has anyone else seen this? What are your thoughts on this issue?
If this is not very prevalent then it may end up being a nonissue. However if a bunch of corps start doing this we will end up having the WARRIORS all over again. |

was wondering the same thing on another lame 5 point map (we need more players) there was a suspicious amount of OB and very few reds.. |

How do you imagine to boost the orbital strike? never saw this so far ingame. Would be nice to see if other players shared the same experience. |

it was done with squad commands and the old repair mechanic, basically they would damage of vehicle with collision, rep in in the red zone, farm WP |

Now that you mention it... I have seen a similar scenario also with a well known corp.
I also have a theory as to what is going on. I am going to test it when the servers come back online.
I will update my findings here. |

If it does exists sounds like the corp doing it is being very tight lipped about it, the only thing i know you can "boost" for sure still is nanohives and my guess they prolly somehow use the rally command to get more points from it but i have never seen squad commission from rally(not sure how you can get commission from simply moving to a spot on the map).
Anyway back to my point if a flood of nanohives are on the field and you start shooting you do indeed get team resupply points, but like rep tool and injectors there is a time delay on it so you cant get it indefintely without some "downtime"
There might be other exploits im overlooking but this is the only thing i can think of that would allow such behavior, i dont think you can get WP/commission on repping vehicles. maybe you can still get rep points from injuring yourself with nades or fall damage and getting repped but not sure. |

Maybe the squad I was in also thought they might be using nano hives and firing their guns to get warpoints. It did take them a while to get the points since we didnt see them for over half of the game but still........ |

With the daily cap, boosting to get SP is ridiculous but to get Orbital Strikes and most likely still lose because they were absent from the battlefield a long time... what's the point? |

Yea...seems that happened to me as well. Saw almost no red dots on the map at all but there was an orbital or two. But what are you farming? One match and you've hit the SP cap for the day and if you don't get out and fight there's not going to be squat for ISK rewarded. I dunno, whatever. |

Right but its also only for that 1 person getting points for assisting someone in reloading. So if 4 people dropped nano and then used ammo and ran through the hives all players would get +12 for each hive and squad leader would get an additinal +5 for each teammate that got +12. I assume this is what happened as it would take a while using this method to get enough WP for 1.5 OBS and they were gone for over half of the game. |

Yea i just mentioned that in the post above yours, the delay is something like 10-30s(not sure of exact downtime) before points can be reaccumulated, but that is to one player, so if all 4 in a squad are laying down hives then they could leach each other by emptying clips and standing in a hive from 1 player, when it gets used up which it will right away another player can then throw down theirs and i think this bypasses the delay.
Of course im speculating but am happy to test this with anyone once server is back up, my ingame main is Gunner Nightingale |

My theory: everyone gets a logi-suit and a bunch of different nanohives, frago someone, everyone walks through each other with a squad of four this creates about... 68 WP every thirty seconds with four people...I don't know if this is viable... I forget how the frago system works so 68 might be a wrong number. |

While I agree it is an exploit, if they are doing what they seem to be doing. They're not going to be that much of an issue for people. At worst, they get high on leaderboards thanks to an exploit, which is true for most games anyway. In the meantime, they will have little to no presence in high profile battlefields thanks to being infamously unlikely to win a match. |

Well when they came out the squad leader ended up getting 24 kills in the few minutes they were out. Since there was noone else to fight all the blues were attacking them and he got 8-9 kills with each orbital he called and the squad leader ended the game with 2500 WP and his squadmates also had 1000-1500 each. |

Well last night my squad and I got 3 orbitals in the same match. However we were doing our bit by killing people and hacking objectives and fragoing as much. My boy went 41-8 and I went 26-0 and the other 2 in our squad got some good kills too.
Overall we had about 80 kills between all of us and thats not including hacking.
80 * 50 = 4000 WPs there itself. More than enough for 2 orbitals.
Was the other corp doing something like this? |

But to everyone else's point i have to agree, given the shear length of time it takes to achieve this it is hardly going to make an impact in the game other than allow for some stat padding. |

No, re-read the OP they were just sitting in their redline for more than half the match to accumulate WP, my guess given a recent post he just made about their endgame results it was to stat pad, but they lost the match. |

If you read my first post you would know that they were not doing this. It would have been a good battle if that was the case and I dont have issues with earning orbitals through hardwork. But they were gone for over half of the game and then when they attacked they all had extremely low stats (when I looked only like 1-2 kills and 1-2 deaths before the OBS went down). |

What is strange that no one has reported this as a bug! If there is a way to boost by sitting at the red zone as a tester it should be reported. Would it be possible for you to send me an in game mail with the corp that is boosting? Generally from I am perched I can pretty much see all of the maps and all areas of the map. I would be able to find out what they are doing and report it accordingly. |

0 accumulation of WP in the Red Line would solve this issue. Figured they would have already implemented this considering the last time a repair tool was abused.

As I said I wont give any hints on the forums as to who it is. The only thing you can be sure of is that they werent imperfects as I would not be having this discussion here........ if it was imperfects I would be contacting the Zitros. |

Awh common! That would mean I get 0 war points everytime when I am actually helping my team spotting and killing peeps. And I am starting to get decent at snipping from the red line.
Excuse the decent snipers from this idea please. |
