CCP.... YOU WILL LOSE OUT ON MONEY!
By keeping the current SP cap, any average player can hit their cap in around 2 hours. (give or take) Not a lot of play time. Those that want to spend 12 hours grinding, will get nothing more than 1000-2000 SP for their additional 10 hours.
This makes it obvious to players that there is NO reason to buy an active SP booster. You can easily hit the cap in less than 2 hours of play, and even if you grind for 10 more hours, the booster only nets you an additional 1000 or so SP. Over the span of a month, that equals aprox 30,000 SP. Not much, when you think about the cost of it. You can make up that 30,000 SP by forcing yourself to play on ONE day, that you may have otherwise missed. (This means lost revenue for CCP)
I like the linearity of the SP cap. You earn normal SP, until you hit the cap. What I don't like is the zero factor of the cap. Meaning: Once you hit cap, you earn [(0 x normal SP) + 50SP]
Get rid of the 50SP add-on, and simply make it so that once you hit the cap, you earn a REDUCED amount of SP... not zero. I think 20% is a good amount. It significantly reduces SP gain to minimize the advantage that "no-lifers" get, but also gives enough of an advantage, you make gamers want to keep playing for hours. (good for player count) ex: Once you hit cap, you earn (.2 x normal SP)
This is good for players but ALSO good for your business CCP. If you do this, people will still WANT to buy boosters. Because they know they can still earn significant amounts of SP if they want to grind for 10 hours a day. It's worth it, if they can still earn 1000 or so SP per match... not worth it if they only earn 50.
Trust me CCP, this will be worth your while. PS. This is coming from a self-employed business owner, I know that when you show customers a VALUE to your product, you will make money. |

Good suggestion. I was happy with the weekly cap. Gives players enough time to hit their cap. Now some, majority of the people will loose interest after playing for 2 hours. All our active boosters are kinda useless, gives a total of 75 hp after the cap. :( |

The active skillpoint boosters lets you make 36K SP * 1.5 = 54 K SP a day. The difference is 18 SP and thats 6.57 milloion skillpoints a year extra, with the same amount of playtime/points earned.
Thats a protosuit and some. So yes, there are good reasons for them for anyone that wants to get ahead of the pac. |

Haven't done the math, to see if you're accurate... but assuming you are: It would cost you aprox $150USD for that proto suit. I don't see too many people spending money on it.
Edit: This would be if you played ALL DAY. Kind of goes out the window, when you apply to a more real world scenario. |

I support this entirely. I dislike the fact that you just end up hitting a wall with sp gain. They can't just cater to this game completely to new and casual players. And the people that actually will buy a lot of aur and be dedicated to this game get shafted by sp caps. They need to let us earn at least a slight amount of space like a thousand or two. Cause getting 1500+ wp a game and only getting 75 sp sucks. |

I'll check it out tonight. If that's the case then its not too bad, given the current conditions. |

The description of the boosters are now not correct anymore, they dont merely allow you to gain SP at a 1.5X multiplier they ALSO RAISE YOUR CAP by 50%.
190,400 Active SP gain/week without booster
285,600 Active SP gain/week with booster
168,000 Passive SP/week without booster
252,000 Passive SP/week with booster
358,400/week without booster vs 537,600 SP with both active and passive booster.
I'll let you do the monthly calculation and see the difference.
F it here they are since it is HUGE
1,433,600 vs 2,150,400(very close to a proto suit FYI)(can achieve this with $19.99 merc pack 30day booster + 4wk of passive booster and still have 12K AUR leftover) this is the extremes no boosters vs both boosters on..
A more likely number is you dont use passive booster is
1,433,600 vs 1,814,400. no booster vs only active booster(assuming you stop playing the moment you hit cap and dont play any addition 50 vs 75 SP matches, which really does add up over the course of a month depending on volume of gameplay time you spend. |

YAWN. From what ive gone back and read over the last few days we were never intended to be getting 20k SP a game so stop whining about it, the reason it was accelerated in previous builds was to make sure everyone was unlocking the skills to use the best gear.
Now theres no reset coming it makes sense to not earn that much SP to get the longevity out of the game. (And to get us buying boosters for a longer period of time...)
So it is what it is, make sure your not wasting SP then only fix needed is to have a rolling monthly cap of days you didnt hit the cap so you have a chance to catch up a few days worth of SP if you haven't been able to get on. Or scrap it all together and go for completely passive just like EVE. |

the 20% of cap is good that way if ppl want to spend a lot of time playing they r rewarded for it. we shouldnt be punishing the no lifers too much. they are after all players. |

Exactly. We WANT some people playing a lot. It keeps the player population up. It's the difference between this game being alive or dead 3 years from now. |

Many people are starting to cry how much pay-to-win boosters are now. When in fact nothing changed much. Over a year, a guy that used both boosters will have made 4.5 Mil SP more than the regular dude.
But that regular dude will have made overall 17.2 Mil SP if he capped every day. So now, that 4.5 Mil SP difference wont make the booster guy that many more powerfull than regular fellas.
Time is of the essence on the matter.
Regarding the 20% SP suggestion, i'm not for it as it allows AFK grinding through the VERY stupid 1 sec = 5 SP deal...... A better idea would be to just earn as much SP as you earned WP in the game. Or half of it.
So 2000 WP after cap => 1000 Sp etc...
Would make sure that people are ACTUALLY earning their SP.
FYI, if you dont have time to play, just stay AFK 1 hour and a half (5 games or so) and you'll get your cap for the day. |

How can you stay AFK and keep getting into matches unless you're in a squad and letting the leader pull you into matches but even then won't it just kick you after a while and earn you no SP for not finishing the match? |
