CCP.... YOU WILL LOSE OUT ON MONEY!
By keeping the current SP cap, any average player can hit their cap in around 2 hours. (give or take) Not a lot of play time. Those that want to spend 12 hours grinding, will get nothing more than 1000-2000 SP for their additional 10 hours.
This makes it obvious to players that there is NO reason to buy an active SP booster. You can easily hit the cap in less than 2 hours of play, and even if you grind for 10 more hours, the booster only nets you an additional 1000 or so SP. Over the span of a month, that equals aprox 30,000 SP. Not much, when you think about the cost of it. You can make up that 30,000 SP by forcing yourself to play on ONE day, that you may have otherwise missed. (This means lost revenue for CCP)
I like the linearity of the SP cap. You earn normal SP, until you hit the cap. What I don't like is the zero factor of the cap. Meaning: Once you hit cap, you earn [(0 x normal SP) + 50SP]
Get rid of the 50SP add-on, and simply make it so that once you hit the cap, you earn a REDUCED amount of SP... not zero. I think 20% is a good amount. It significantly reduces SP gain to minimize the advantage that "no-lifers" get, but also gives enough of an advantage, you make gamers want to keep playing for hours. (good for player count) ex: Once you hit cap, you earn (.2 x normal SP)
This is good for players but ALSO good for your business CCP. If you do this, people will still WANT to buy boosters. Because they know they can still earn significant amounts of SP if they want to grind for 10 hours a day. It's worth it, if they can still earn 1000 or so SP per match... not worth it if they only earn 50.
Trust me CCP, this will be worth your while. PS. This is coming from a self-employed business owner, I know that when you show customers a VALUE to your product, you will make money. |

Thats a protosuit and some. So yes, there are good reasons for them for anyone that wants to get ahead of the pac.
Haven't done the math, to see if you're accurate... but assuming you are: It would cost you aprox $150USD for that proto suit. I don't see too many people spending money on it.
Edit: This would be if you played ALL DAY. Kind of goes out the window, when you apply to a more real world scenario. |
