On behalf of ZionTCD, I would like to say that we support the testing of the Dust and Eve and how they work together.
At the same time, I would also like to let everyone know that when they were asked about helping the community in the past thorugh more actual testing of this sort, Zitro said that Imperfects had no intention of improving the community through testing of the Beta whatsoever. The irony is that they now think it a good idea to do this, and are attempting to test the game 2 weeks before release when they have had several months to do so leading up to now.
As a result, while members of ZionTCD are welcome to participate in what looks to be a fun and possibly worthwhile test, I can only shake my head at the Imperfects attempts to improve an image built on hate, derision, and blatant disregard for the community as a whole to this point. |

Wow Zion is sucking up to Imperfect's as well?
Sarcasm?
This is support for the community wide test, not for the organizers.
EDIT: Most of the Imperfects are welcome to die in a fire, as far as I'm concerned, and I would happily help them on their way (in game). Hope that clears up my position on this matter. |

I hope you realize that we have people that regularly do more testing than most others registered for the beta. You just don't see, remember or care about the threads because everyone's biased against our opinions, ideas and feedback, no matter how legitimate they are.
My comment is based on a conversation I had with Zitro that you weren't part of, thank you.
EDIT: I'm not also not biased against your corp - there are a handful that I enjoy bantering with and talk to (Cyn for example). As for your testing, Cyn is the only one I've noticed say anything constructive on the forums, which I read every day when I'm at work waiting for the phone to ring. |

You just don't see, remember or care about the threads because everyone's biased against our opinions, ideas and feedback, no matter how legitimate they are. To be fair here, your guys' PR ability (if you can call it that) hasn't been the greatest. I'm not knocking that some of you guys have done your fair share of bringing to light kinks in this game throughout testing, but when a good portion of your members openly mock, destructively criticize, and in general bad mouth most of the community, it doesn't lend itself to a remembering or caring about what you guys say. With, of course, the exception of a few. Are you aware that the badmouthing began from people attacking us? And that this "good portion" of our members is about 10% or so? It began with us staying silent and people creating rumors about us and insinuating false information and then insulting and attacking us, calling us ringers and cheaters. Do you think that was fair? Why wasn't anyone coming to our defense then? Instead, some of our guys begin lashing back and "omg why are all you Imperfects such jerks!?" And it doesn't matter where your statement came from, Forlorn, when it's wrong. I'm not going to derail this thread into another bickering fest about our corp. I'll try to wake up in time to shoot some people tomorrow in the event.
Since you are willing to have an honest discussion, I'll be happy to discuss this with you. From my own perspective, I didn't notice your corp until the tournament, at which point your public persona was already cemented by your behavior on the forums, and not by the rumors.
If what you say is true (which, no offense, I can't say for certain since I wasn't aware of the supposed rumors at the time they were said nor not said), you were unknowns. Would it be fair to be attacked? No. Could you control it? No. Could you control your reaction to it? Most definately you could.
The mature response would have been to continue to post feedback in positive ways - report on your findings of the testing you now claim you did. Instead, your members lashed out, as you say. This is very immature, and why I avoid forums normally (I only participate in this one as good faith to the beta process). Of couse people are going to attack you, after you attacked them over something trivial like a rumor. Mature people don't typically behave in this way, they don't go on a rampage. As a result, your corp was treated as immature and people responded in kind - the rumors became attacks.
If you honestly want my advice on how to handle that: you talk to the person first. In private. You don't attack them in public.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: and the source does matter when it's your leader and most public person saying it. This is how public perception and policies are formed. After that, you have to do a lot of work to recover. Good job trying, but until your corp has been at it for a while, all it looks like is lipstick on a pig. |

This is the kind of mentality that I don't like about this whole thing. It's all on us. It's all our fault for the way we act. We're the immature ones. Except somehow it's not immature for the initial attacks and accusations. There's nothing wrong the people who spread rumors, the people who call us cheaters (who still continue to do so), the people who attack us and disregard any legitimate idea or suggestion we have while it's acknowledged and discussed if someone different makes a duplicate thread on the exact same topic. It's just "oh another IMP QQ thread" and then turned into a bickering insult fest. This is why some of our members do what they do. There's really no going back. You're not going to change your opinion because any move toward civility (see: this thread) turns into "first reply edited by GM for being disrespectful" and "I can only shake my head at the Imperfects attempts to improve an image..." How can people get on your good side if you're unwilling to let them? As far as some of our guys are concerned, **** it, you're not going to let us escape the "bad boy" image, so we might as well embrace it.
I never said it was mature that people spout out rumors. As a matter of fact, I asked if it was fair and I said no it wasn't, and that you can't control it. What your team can do is act as most mature people do in the real world, as opposed to how people shrouded in anonymity on the internet does. Rumors may have started it, but I wasn't issuing the rumors. Why attack me as your players have? Did I attack back - no, I took the high road acted out of responsibility.
You asked a question, friend, and got an answer. If you don't like the answer, that is your opinion. You have the choice to either take what I said and think on it, or ignore it. I don't care which you do - as I said I was only answering your question.
You also say people said things about there being duplicate threads, and IMPS were QQing again. I'm sure you noticed you aren't the only corp that was treated that way - and yes that is immature too. However, your corp's reaction far exceeded any other reaction. Believing otherwise is a fantasy. Your corp's reaction added fuel to the fire. Is it all your corp's fault? No. But your members certainly added fuel to the fire, instead of behaving in a way more becoming a leader in the community as you once had the potential to be.
EDIT: if you want to leave the "bad boy image" behind, then my recommendation is to ask your leader to do just that. We asked him about being a leader in the community; his response was and is "f the community". If he decides to be a true leader in the community, then people will respect you again. I'm not going to argue how you got here - but there is a way to change the perception if you are willing to do it. And yes, it is on you to change their perception, if you want to have a positive image. Your image belongs to you - you foster it and it grows based on the food you feed it. And yes, until I see long term proof that that is what your corp wants, it only looks like window dressing. I would rather have Imperfects succeed and represent Dust with pride, but my respect is not given out freely. It has to be earned, and when you are disrespectful to me, I will not respect you (again, general you, not you specifically). Think on this, if you will. Set the emotions aside for a moment. Put this situation in a real world scenario - see how it plays out. You want a better image - here's your chance. Make good on it. Be positive. Be leaders. Otherwise, the public perception will continue to be what it is and this test this weekend is what I called it before: lipstick on a pig. I have no problem with your Tiel - I don't even know you. You seem a good person - maybe even a good leader. Take that step and see where it goes. You might be surprised. |

Zan - you are one of the few I do respect. When you are "trolling" it is almost always in good humor and clearly a joke. I don't recall once seeing you post something deliberately hurtful to anyone. I remember fondly the matches you don't remember |

I keep going back and forth in my self argument on that matter. I'm upset that any noob can throw a nade and slaughter me with weak gun game - but on the other hand I don't want this game to be low popped. Then again - I hate the children that come from catering to casuals. then again - I hate not getting full games. Back n forth - back n forth. Pros and cons to everything. I want this to be skilled based too so that the best are the best - but I don't want a cult hit and games like that tend to be only that. Ahh - someone shoot me - again. Q.Q
