When it goes open I think all the COD kids are going to come in and grab the sniper load outs so I imagine for the first couple of weeks we are going to see a whole lot more sniping. I am enjoying the matches today because everyone is on and playing so it is making for some good matches. |

Ya in every game the sniper to everything else ratio is one sided especially for new comers, lets them see the game from a distance and boost that almighty KDR! |

I dont mind snipers so much, they are a pain in my ass but you just have to stay out of the open. Just like people hating on me when I run the prototype Laser |

The tears they'll have from HMG heavies popping out of LAV's to kill them then running away in it - it's going to be priceless.

I dont know where this hate comes from with COD sometimes other than successful formula that kills other games every year. I have my own reasons for not buying COD but as a developer I wouldnt stick up a sign that saids GO blank yourself. COD players. Especially when COD players spend money on game packs and expansions frequently when there looking for people to purchase micro transactions. COD players age range from 9 year olds to 40 year olds its a vast player base. If Dust could pull a quarter of the players of COD then matches would always be populated by multiple new players.COD has its problems as mention by others above, but there is always something in the game every FPS player likes that allows them to play it at parties or holidays with friends.
Yes i dont like hearing the squeaky voice either , but i rather take a squeaky voice kid that knows what he is doing than a older gentlemen that doesn't talking on the phone, kids, or wife any day. |

I own all the COD games and I am not hating on them, I find myself not caring for the game much anymore after playing DUST514, The maps here are great and give lots of variety for different play styles where with all of the call of duty games there is really only one thing in mind run and gun there is really no team play with that game. All that really changes with the COD franchise is the name, the maps, and maybe some equipment. |

ill give you the team play thing on COD , that is one of the reason i dont buy it and low player counts. Play style that's debatable when it comes to FPS games. Dust is banking on its potential to much at the moment with a small fan base to be screaming we dont want anybody with money. That i see every one does in small playerbase games in the past 2 years. Then complains why didnt we succeed. Also i wouldnt care what kit they grabbed if there was actual well placed cover in Dust and funnel design to stop the blob movements circling around objective like a tour the whole Skirmish game. |

I like COD even though I only picked up a copy of BLOPS a few months ago. It is what it is. Kind of like eating an entire box of pop-tarts in an hour. If you like that sort of thing. Which I do.
And I have never sniped in COD. But in the new BLOPS 2 my kdr with the shotguns blows my DUST 514 kdr out or the water. Nothing like run and gun paintball at the mini mall.
And really, these are the players we want to befriend. Even though the pre-pubescent voice can be grating on comms. If you look at the long game some of those players will be able to vote and drink beer legally in a scant 3 to 5 years. So we should all do our level best to be nice, welcome them into the fold, invite them into our corporations, and steal their lunch money when they aren't looking. |
