topic of this thread is grenades all kinds of grenades!
Flux grenades
AV grenades
Locus grenades
now what do these all have in common?(not counting that they are all grenades)
they can be thrown very quickly and go off just as fast!
so I've been thinking (amazing in itself ) and I've come up with a solution to help with this.
The idea: we already have an animation for arming the grenades when we hold them so why not make it necessary to do?
grenades would have to be armed before being thrown otherwise they just don't go off.
this along with increasing the timer slightly will make grenades more of a special occasion weapon rather then a panic button.
so my fellow dusters if you have any comments or ideas post below.
and sorry in advance for being so 'uppity' just happy after spending some time with someone. |

Well any delay is welcome in my book.
Earlier we had a 4 sec fuse if you cooked them or not.
This insta toss 2 sec fuse needs to go. Simple as that. |

Actually the easiest fix would be to get rid of the AHH NADE!! button and put in a switch system like in MAG. That way you have to switch to the nades before you throw them. Then even if you keep the 2 second timer on the nade it would keep it from being the "panic nade right before I die" button that it currently is. |

actually I was thinking of a weapon mod system that allows for a granade launcher to be placed on the gun this way it can kill when it hits them and then blows up, simple and easy. Its a battle field bad compnay idea, better then having to toss a nade and miss completely |

This is the change Ive been thinking about for grenades lately.
Put it back to a 4 sec timer, but also change the grenade skill to give a 5% reduction per level to fuse timer. Then when you have it at level 5 your grenades have a 3 sec timer (right between the old "I threw a grenade.... will it go off.... *BOOM* oh there it is" and the new "I threw a gre*BOOM*"). This way it takes a great SP investment to have reasonable, but not completely unbalanced, fuse times. Especially if I remember right the grenade skill has pretty hefty SP requirements as is.
I also favor the idea of making it so that when you hold the grenade button it doesnt cook but instead determines how far the grenade is thrown (I didnt come up with this idea, I think maybe KingBabar did?). That may be a bit off topic from whats being asked though. |
