So I've been playing for a couple weeks now. The game is pretty fun. Just a few problems that CCCP needs to fix before they share the game with our comrades. First thing being first, The spawn on ambush is broken. It pretty much forces me to choose to play in a heavy drop suit. Which is ok. But then some dude spots me from like a mile a way with a lazer rifle and gibs me in 1 second? A suit specialization that you pretty much force me to take shouldn't have a counter as hard as the lazer rifle. Even in unskilled hands it is pretty much a WMD(WEAPON OF MERC DISASTER). On a related note heavys should be able to carry more ammo. I always find myself running out of ammo. It takes so long to run to supply depots or nano hives, you would think the designers of the suits would anticipate this and allow for the heavys to be more like walking battle command units. You know?
Secondly I think the factions are a little bit unbalanced. It seems that the game spawns more tanks for the red faction than the blue. I don't know if there is some racial bonus for likelyhood for tanks to spawn? Or which factions get placed on which team for that matter. If there is some RP reason for one side to get more tanks, you should compensate by giving the other side more effective weapons against them. Making the Mass Driver do more damage against tanks and expanding its max clip size would be a good start. I know CCCP wants to make sure that the "red" team is strong. I mean it is the color of what they are named after. But please please please fix this before release.
Finally, the GUI seems a little bit counterintuitive at times. The X button is select at times and send at others. A Friends list and Send All Friends Message should be included and available at the press of a button. Like I've GOT friends. But like they never respond to my squad invites or messages because they are in games or already in a squad. It is too hard to do some of the things that should be so easy in a social game. If you could just pretty much copy everything Blizzard does with their social interface. They do a good job. |

Second, tanks are bought and fitted by players off the market unless they use the miltia basic stuff. Which means it has a few modules that are low end. I don't think CCCP will ever use any of blizzards ideas. They might however go back and adopt EVE fleet GUI.
You can't argue with Blizzard's success with multiplayer games. Like the games or not (Don't care, they make awesome games) their social gaming interface is very effective and easy to use. They have lots of in chat commands that support their GUI so that players can do things faster and more effeciently.
So if the red faction can buy tanks... What does the blue faction get? Is our equivelent that Jeep I sometimes see? Because that doesnt seem very fair. A tank and a jeep are not the same thing. The tanks seem to be able to take A LOT more damage, and be able to do more as well. I kinda get the idea of the war being asymetrical (HP and POWER vs Speed and agility), but I don't think it has been executed very well.
The Lazer isn't so much a problem in general as it is specifically for ambush. To play ambush you pretty much have to go heavy (if you dont want to get Random Spawn Camped). And Lazers are IMBA vs. heavys. Its pretty much a proven fact (They kill me all the time). So unless I too go lazer, which wouldnt be that fun, I stand no chance against these lazer scrubs who think they are all big tough Moonraker wannabes. Game forces you to choose heavy, then lazer... Conformity Communism Can'tdoanythingelse Players and then inserts asymetrical warfare in the form of vehicles (Which Lazers are powerless to stop). Seems kinda broken to me. |

Another major issue that I see is the skill point system. I've read on this forum that over the course of many games that you will eventually start making less skill points per game? This seems anticompetiative. A True Skill Based Game has equality. CCCP should know this. Instead of a weekly or daily cap there should be a game cap with a tax that goes towards passive SP for All Players.
So lets say you would normally get 10,000 a game. You now make 100 a game and 9,900 is shared with your fellow man for the common bond. This would eliminate the gap between the haves and have nots that currently dominates the game. Problem isnt so much that nobody has anything, its moreso that a few people control what would be better utilizied by everybody.
See one of those Crux Special Task Group guys are running around rolling people over with their tank. From what I've been told, that costs a lot of skill points to do. With those same skill points, everyone on his team could have Heavy Type 2 drop suits. Instead of having one point of power on the map, the team could have up to 16. Thus making a more resiliant team. A question further... Does he NEED the tank? Probably not. Not as much as everyone else needs the SP and cash that he wastes every game so that HE can have a fun and competative game while WE are grinding for hours on end just to be able to afford skrambler pistols.
It is NOT fair. And we don't have to take it. The reset before open beta affords us a great opportunity. We should NOT let it pass us by. Restore equality. Restore dignity. You can't fight the tide. And it is rising |

I forgot to mention that the servers don't seem to be working. Pretty sure you are going to want to fix that before you present your baby to the world. |
