So right now Eve players can be pretty much obliterate us with us not being able to fire back. So when do we get the toys to shoot back at them. |

I expect there will be some decent space battles above our fights. Trying to pop enemy ships before they can orbital strike. That ought to make being a Dust corp with no strong EVE relations very difficult.
I'm also guessing eventually we will get some sort of massive emplacements for shooting back from the ground. |

No need to get the panic train rolling for no reason. As has already been stated, the strike can only be called in by a Dust player, and only when they earn enough WP, just like with the War Barge strikes. |

Huh? Panic? Do you see the smiley face at the end of my post? Does that look panicky to you? Simple Question. Simple answer no? |

Won't there be like Space Canons or something we can use to ward enemy ships away? I'd imagine them costing some Kitten though. |

One of the maps we fight on right now is one of those space cannons that shoot back :-) |

I've seen buildings on certain maps that resemble cannons aiming towards space, I assume this would be our only way to fight back. That and our EvE buddies could be fighting the war with us in space. |

There's actually an ambush map that's just the facility dedicated to maintaining and powering the anti-ship defense system.
You know that weird structure with two prongs sticking up towards the sky that are connected by a series of rings?
Yeah, that's the barrel of a gun. |

I'm thinking that those things aren't going to be making an appearance until we see actual mercenary bases and some refinements of the district system. I'd expect those defense platforms will be a big feature with the mercenary bases themselves, and maybe in just a few of the battles required to take control of a planet. Wouldn't make sense for a garbage processing facility to have a space cannon, for example. |

Back in E3 or Codex there was one that fired up every minute or so. It was in the red north east on the 4 point map with the table tops |

You make it sound quite different than what it is (at least at the moment).
For Eve pilot the task is extremely boring, being parked there waiting for an avatar picture to pop up once every five minutes, then press F1.
And the effect on Dust side isn't THAT much bigger than traditional precision strike.
DISCLAIMER: Currently the turrets are only small. Bigger ones might pack a bit more punch, if ever made available for the task.
On boringness of the task, granted that's it's a bit different to be keeping eye on local and scanner. But it doesn't add any glory or joy to the task - only make it more tedious. But on the whole, if it generates more PVP, it's good for the Eve side itself! |

planetary defenses will most likely not be a turret or any "consumable" installation. rather, it will probably be in the form of a building...one which the owner of a district builds. i'm assuming activation of such a weapon will be done by defenders, or by those who controls the district. |

The "skyfire battery" as it was called in a trailer is visible from a distance on a certain map. They're there, but not sure when they will be operational, and when we will be able to fight on maps with them. |

Yeah it was in "Plateaus" during E3, not sure if it's still visible on that landscape or not. I quit playing early in Codex. |
