It's been brought up a few times already. Make it like Brink. You get an injector tossed to you, and you decide if and when you want to use it. |

To those who to just use circle (for suicide), there are situations in which you want to be revived, but not at the exact moment someone gets to you, and all you need is a few seconds to wait until an enemy walks away. |

I did not think about that, thank you for pointing that out. Thinking that way, I can see it would be useful. |

What about being killed by a sniper upon being revived? Or even by an AR at medium range that the medic couldn't have predicted? The decision not to hit circle is up to the downed player but the decision to revive is up to the medic and if he made the wrong decision to revive when he did, that was his decision, not the downed player's and only tells that in hindsight he should've hit circle.
I'll propose something else, though. Maybe the injection symbol could only appear on the map after the downed player presses square for help. |

Currently you are out of commission. You want a change to the underlying code on how this works. A little late for that, don't you think?
And to make it mimic failed game at that. Fun enough, but definitely not a success. If their Commanding Officers would have just shut up it would have been tolerable.

Getting revived like that isn't so much the fault of the game as it is the fault of the Logibro doing the reviving.
@My fellow Logibros - If you see someone who is dead and wants to be revived (blinking) surrounded by enemies to the point that if you pick them up then they're just going to get shot DO NOT REVIVE THEM.
Instead you should do one of two things:
- Wait out the enemy whilst moving into a position to revive the fallen ally.
-Kill them all, THEN Revive your ally.
A lot can change during a shooter within the time frame of 10 seconds. Assault and Scout players (and to a certain degree Heavies) are like Sharks. If they smell blood they're going to try and find out where it is. So if you run (which gives away your position on the map) to a fallen ally, they're going to see it and come running. If you just wait and move into position quietly they'll smell blood somewhere else and make reviving your ally much safer for you both.
Remember though, sometimes it's just not worth it.

@Free Healing: We already know that. The ones that don't are new. They have to learn it. Let me tell you, reviving someone only to have them drop again is disheartening. Then to get killed yourself, even a noob will get the point soon enough. Some sooner than others.
Did I do it in the beginning. Yes.
Do I do it now? Rarely, but it happens. Sometimes you run from a distance to get to the downer and you really, really have no idea how much longer he has.
New Logi Bro's get tunnel vision. It can get really exciting to start doing the revs and the reps. Staying alive and keeping the downer alive afterwards takes experience.
My ratios sucked until I got decent with an AR. Then once again until I relearned on the iron sights. Now, I can clear the area. If it is my Heavy HMG then will I do everything possible to get them up. Even if it means I don't make it.
Don't forget we have the inverse condition. I just revived some random level of grunt and they run off without even giving their shields a chance to regen. Not to mention letting me rep their armor. I cannot even guess how many times I went through that in the last 24 hours. I sat there under cover and watched the little bit of armor I can afford to give him and ... yep. That one is gone and there are too many Reds close by to try again. The clone is lost.
Your posts are always appreciated but it seemed to me the OP was just grousing. He doesn't like how it works so he wants the game changed. Right, just tell the programmers. It is just software, they can do it over the weekend.
Here, hold your breath. I'll watch. |

I'm going to have to disagree with you on one point Kahl, most logibro's play logibro because of a simple reason. They don't have very good gungame. Now this isn't true for all Logi's but it is for most. As such many new Logibro's have the mentality of "i have to get points any way i can so i can get SP". It may not be productive for the rest of the team but i feel like it's the basic mindset of new Logibro's. I did it when i was new too. Until i figured out there was a better way to approach the situation which i posted above.
Basically i don't want any Logi's who see this thread to have the idea that it's the systems fault and they can keep doing like they are. Because that's just going to get them killed and don't want any Logibro's to die (unless i shoot them out of love ;)
Keep the faith.

Because that's just going to get them killed and don't want any Logibro's to die (unless i shoot them out of love. ;) I don't think we are really disagreeing. It takes time to build up anyone's gun game. But it you don't clear the area the happy points will not be yours. With the nerf of the ARs and SMGs it is harder to be a Logi currently.
Your posting was good, I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't nor that it isn't important.
I play Logi Bro because I like to help. I have speculated that it is because I have an over developed parent complex and my kids are grown and gone. My particular combo is Logi and Sniper. In close when I can and out far when I can't.
But the OP doesn't seem to understand the situation. A new Logi has had his butt handed to him a hundred times trying to stay alive in this butcher's paradise with little information. Then they finally figure out how to work the wheel to get the Injector in their hand and to revive someone. It is a great feeling. It is an equally horrific feeling to have that clone drop right in front of you. Followed by your own self.
That first few times are immediately followed by the, "Holy Kitten! I can get points!". A period of bliss and reckless abandon follows quickly. If we are running in pub matches then, if you are lucky enough to even have Logis, some of them are still at the beginning of the learning curve. Just grousing about it doesn't do much good.
Pick their name out of the player list, add it to contacts and politely inform them that reviving is nice but doing it so that we both stay alive is better. Then point to your postings and to those from Logi Bro. Send it in email. Tell them about the forums and the training ground. QQ about lame Logis probably isn't going to make the situation better. |

FYI guys. If you suicide every time you die really quickly you loose a clone. If there's a medic around, I strongly suggest to not suicide if you want to help your team win the battle.
With that said, if you have a nanite injector use the dam n thing. Why the f*** else would you load it on your outfit. Not only that you could get up 60 warpoints for reviving.

I agree to above, if your close, with the current system you don't always know where the down person is and how far away they are. You only know the general direction to find them I don't know how many times I thought some one was close only to run half way across the map to have them bleed out just as you stab them. |

@F.H. No "h" in his name man. It's not me. :p Though I do like his name.
There are times when I get dropped I sit there and bleed out on purpose just to highlight the enemy on the map. While the area is swarmed with red dots I shouldn't be revived...
The icon flashing only when help is requested isn't a bad idea, though it does deprive the logi's of their portion of decision making on the field so I don't know. Maybe a "area is too hot" button or something could be added thereby giving info to the logi and letting them decide what they want to do or if it's even worth the risk? |

I do the same thing. I support having triangle, x, or even the weapon/active module wheel have some use for aiding triage units in the process of sorting victims, to determine medical priority in order to increase the number of survivors, when in the bleedout phase would be great. |
