Its thousands of years in the future, so it would be nice if more items looked more strange and high-tech instead of conforming to the appearances of current modern day technology. Right now a lot of things look boringly conventional: Vevicles: LAVs pretty much look like roofless modern day humvees with a different skin. Consider the fact that only a few thousand years ago that we used primitive chariots like this, and now we drive automobiles. EVE/Dust takes place more than a tiny 2,000 years in the future, but instead over 21,000 years forward in time. It doesn't make sense why our vehicles look like prettier versions of modern day humvees. Same thing applies to HAVs and modern day tanks.
Weapons. Sniper rifles, assault rifles, mass drivers, scrambler pistols, and most weapons; sure they fire plasma, electrolasers induced by plasma channels, and some are railguns, but most (not all) look like regular modern day weapons with a scifi skin. Once again, the artists could have been a lot more creative with the designs considering how far into the future it is.
I realize its probably too late to change existing weapons and vehicle designs, and I don't expect them too change (though some installation designs are still being changed). Its not too late however for additional brand new weapons and vehicles that will come in future expansions. For weapons: Look at this SMG design, notice how its worn much like a wristband.
Look at this and this gun, not sure what it is, but that strange design looks pretty awesome.
This image has a lot of very strange complex looking guns.
Magazine placement can really add to the scifi feel of a weapon. Right now most weapons boringly conventional and uncreative magazine placement. Some weapons have really interesting reload methods though, like the scrambler pistol's top being popped open to place the magazine (my favorite current reload method). Another magazine placement style which can be used is bullpup, which places the magazine somewhere between the stock and the handle like this; its not really futuristic since it is used in many modern day weapons, but it would add some variety, and it does look cool. To sum this part up, have more bullpup guns, and have more guns with tops that open for magazine placement like the the scrambler pistol. Use whatever cool weird reload methods and magazine placements you can think of.
Would be cool to have weapons with magazines that aren't rectangular boxes. Cylindrical magazines like the ones used in District 9 guns would be nice, also the linked image is a really awesome overall gun design as well.
Now for vehicles: For future ground vehicles, I would like for some to hover. Some future Amarr racial variants of the HAV and LAV could hover instead of use wheels. Other Vehicles that may come later like maybe a 1-person ground vehicle, or an APC could definitely be hover vehicles.
Here are some concept art of some hover vehicles which is good inspiration. Something like this can be a personal ground vehicles, and this can be a APC or tank.
Dropsuits: All the dropsuits look sufficiently futuristic, and most are ok, while some are very well designed (the Amarr heavy and the Minmatar logistics look awesome). The Caldari assault however is boringly simple. Future Caldari dropsuits can be much more visually interesting and complex while still maintaining the angular look of the Caldari. This and
