like anything electronic including lasers for X amount of time, radar blackout included, and zoom cam goes static, i personally dont have all much problem with lasers but seeing as some people do just throwing some idea out there instead of nerfing the laser maybe we should have the flux nade buffed with an allout emp effect from a flux nade or orbital strike causes the lasers to "overheat", EMP is the future of modern warfare and should be included in dust, plus we already see it in EVE
perhaps have future ammo like the MD can equip EMP rounds
actually thinking about it now the MD could in the future have various rounds- explosive, emp, smoke, toxic gas or which could also be a "dirty" round causing an area to toxic with radiation, minmatar are known for their use of nuclear weponry.. i dont use MD much but i do not see them as OP, been seeing less of them MDs now ppl have adapted to iron sight.. if they added a nuclear round it would need a small mushroom cloud bigboy style from fallout
the nuclear round would only be able to fire one at a time before reload and the reload would take longer |

yea but only OP if your heavy into armor based suits, ther could be a neanderthalish squad of armor based suits with traditional weapons, when FF comes on the beauty of the EMP orbital strike is you could equip a squad with armor based suits and then not have to worry about friendly fire from the orbital strikes as you pwn the shield tankers with all armor based units, same thing with the flux it would only be epic if the squad using them was armor based and didnt use much electronics
TLDR: the theory behind EMP is with firendly fire on, so an armor squad can spam EMP and not have to worry about FF
currently the flux nade seems to have an EMP effect it disables the recharge of a suit for a good 20-30 seconds even when running double regulators |

Flux do interfere with other electronics currently, just not the stuff you suggested, they disrupt or otherwise destroy all hives and uplinks and i think they might interfere or destroy RE's and Proximity. They do have a disruptive effect on electronics in general so not sure if there are effects on certain modules or not like vehicle modules |

I like the radar blackout part, but not anything like the laser disruption. If you want to really break it down, every single weapon in this game (except Minmatar weapons, nothing but rust and duct tape there) are run off of some electronics systems. Even your basic AR should be disrupted under your suggestion. Disrupting weapons is discouraging to the player base and will deflect people from the game. No matter how cool the thought of disrupting weapons with an EMP is, it is more annoying than anyone really wants to deal with. |
