me being a sniper, when i spawn in i get spawned trapped and shot down and all i can think is...skrew this im done. i think that because i cant go anywhere when im spawning into my own death. |

It happens to everyone regardless of what you are, I hate when stupid pricks start to spawn trap your team and kill you the instant you spawn into battle, it would be okay if there was no "10 seconds to spawn time" and you went right back in. |

Spawn point camping is nothing new. It is up to game design to provide a reasonable solution. This should be on your list of use cases... |

It's not role specific, you probably just notice it more as the sniper because that's the role where you're at the biggest disadvantage when it happens. I play Logi and Assault and I think I know what you're talking about.
I'm not sure he's talking about people camping the fixed spawn points (CRU's), he might be talking about the random area spawn when you choose not to use a CRU.
I've had some crazy experiences with the spawns in Ambush maps and I haven't even been in the beta for 24 hours. Try four spawns in a row where your controller is rumbling because you're being shot at before your screen even fades in and you're dead instantly because it spawned you in the middle of the enemy team or directly in the sights of one enemy at his optimal range. I've also had situations where I spawn and someone (or a few) spawns behind me a second later ready to shoot me in the back before I even see them on the map. |

The spawning really needs to be sorted. Playing ambush over the holidays was painful. Why do they not use the "jump from the mcc" option that you have in skirmish? That at least makes more sense than just blinking into existance. Also you could direct your decent to avoid spawn traps. |

It's been an issue in almost every multiplayer FPS and it ruins so many great games - I can't stand spawn camping or campers - it's a cheap tactic to get your kills in. I've always liked defending a position vs going to their spawn and killing them as they appear.
It's a difficult solution - personally I'd like to see spawning in on a squad mate like Battlefield does, and more spawning points or the ability to select which default spawn you'd like to do. And also more spawning points that are around the outskirts of the map. The more you add and you allow peeps a choice to spawn where they want - it becomes much more difficult to camp.
The game has gotten a little bit better on spawning in some cases but I still do continually find myself spawning right in the middle of a hornets nest.
Best solution would be to give more options to the player I think on where they'd like to spawn in their default spawn. |

They need to implement a 2-3 second invulnerability funcion when spawing in an ambush or even Skirmish, of course that shouldn't apply to drop uplinks otherwise it would be exploited. I remember when I played Killzone2 and they did that on the spawining granades where there would be invincibility for 5 seconds after spawning and it got rediculously exploited. Then they took it off and it became a death trap. |

I was just about to post about this. The spawning is a huge issue. Either make teams spawn at opposite sides of the map during Ambush matches, or add temporary invulnerability. Its very frustrating when everytime you spawn, either someone of the opposing team spawns behind you, or you spawn into the middle of a bunch of people. |

I think the above mentioned MCC spawn availability option in ambush would solve the problem. You might get redlined, but let's face it - your team is just plain outgunned. At least you can move, find cover, fight back, etc.

I will not continue to play this game if this issue continues to be as bad as it now.
When a player waits 10 seconds to play for 2, they feel like they're playing a crappy game that isn't much fun.
What's wrong with temporary invulnerability? It only results in better gun battles. When you actually have a chance to find cover & match your opponent it creates a better gaming experience for both players. Each player is more challenged.
Spawning is dust's biggest problem. I'm disappointed this problem hasn't been fixed already. |

I feel to fix the spawning problem they need to implement a launcher system on the MCC to launch freshly spawned dropsuters onto the field. In addition i feel that the spawning should be on a Wave Spawn or Force Spawn basis, thus making the people who actually get launched into battle more effective cause one or two people spawingin in at a time have no chance against the size force required to take the spawning terminals in the first place. |

Try it as a Heavy with your trusty HMG not even close to spinning up. You will still go down like wheat in a storm. And it isn't a Free Fit. Just ISK down on the ground. With your blood. Or the blood of your clone. Except it seemed a lot like being there holding the gun and watching all those grinning Red Berries shooting, shooting at me. Red Berries!
Then Kitten In The Box starts in on me about contracts and choosing deployment while I am looking at all those Red Berries swarming around the Drop Link. The only Drop Link. They look like dots of blood, circling, waiting for me. Or bullet holes.

I'm continuously amazed at how slow CCP has been at improving this problem. TDM Ambush is the first thing casual new players will go to when open beta comes. It is probably the most common FPS multiplayer mode. They are going to get spawn killed over and over and then delete the game.
Even knowing the problem and coming into a match with drop uplinks I can sometimes spawn in five times before I live long enough to deploy them. |
