Would someone be so kind as to summarize how battles won/lost will affect the EVE-Online universe?
We're all battling it out in Dust514, but how does that impact EVE-Online? |

Our battles will determine the faction that owns a planet. The number of planets owned by a faction, in addition to some other factors that are Eve side only, will determine which faction owns the star system. We suspect the same will be true when Dust moves to null sec as well. |

For now CCP said that we will only start affecting the Faction Warfare aspect of Eve Online. Later on, probably in 2014, we might one day be given the ability to affect sovereignty as well. |

Correct - last prediction I remember reading (though I don't remember the source) said null sec would be winter expansion 2013. |

Factions being Minmatar, Amarr, Caldari and Gallente if you didnt know ...
Each faction controls large areas of Highsec space and Eve pilots currently battle to expand this ... we will add to the wars.
It should also be noted that your characters Faction (in Eve certainly) doesnt restrict you to fighting for that side ... you can fight for their ally or be a traitor and fight for the opposition if you wish ... you just have to have positive standing with them by running missions for them. Will probably be the same here, but without the standings system you'll probably just enlist with the army you choose by going to their space. |

Last Confirmation is that we'll be an active role in Faction Warfare, Any system that shares both planetary sov majority and space majority gets a greater additional bonus for possessing the system. This effects the score and how well their tier system is increasing Loyalty Point gains, lowering LP store costs, and increasing available LP items.
While there are not that many temperate planets within FW systems means that several dozen star systems are now hot topics of blow crap over for it for.
Dust Soldiers would benefit from the mere fact that we will and should have interested pilots in providing support for us when the time rolls in. I would expect combined navy and army command channels to be rather common as both sky and ground forces coordinate their strikes so that space superiority can be maintained while the ground forces sling it out on the ground. |

apparently, at first dust will only make it easier for FW members to capture a planet, later on they expect it to effect nullsec sov. another thing they showed was having matches in which eve players had no input but could bet on who would win. |

Actually that betting thing could be done from the get go when we are in TQ. Implemented someway similar to this -> Wunderbet |

Slick can't stop being a nob bro, he was like that in local tonight. Thinks because his corp won the tourney he's the alpha duster. Unfortunately, its grunts like him that make the forums and local an unpleasant place to be. Just ignore him and be one of the mature ones by not feeding the troll. |

The argument isn't with you zitro, I respect the imperfects until they give be reason not to. A good group of guys from past experience. The issue is with your grunt 'slick' who has a bad attitude towards everyone for no reason other than the fact you guys won the tournament and he thinks he is high above everyone else despite the fact alot of us have been here since day one and he is relatively new. If he wants respect he has to give respect, we were nice to him in local until he started running off at the mouth and being an insulting a$$hole. This grunt of yours needs to learn some manners zitro. A tournament win does not mean 'i am the alpha merc' especially since he hardly even played IN the tournament and is using imperfects victory as a means to big himself up. No beef with you bro, but control that cretin before he gives your corp a very bad reputation (and we all know we want our corps to hold a good rep)

I'm constantly researching the DUST / EVE link since TSOLE is built as a Hybrid Corporation... devoted in the beginning to FW.
I also push for MORE interaction the deeper the link goes.
As it stands, DUST will be involved in Faction Warfare, with similar system to the current one for EVE Pilots. (ie you sign up to a militia, you can access contracts from that Faction and their allied faction (Gallente + Minmatar) or (Amarr + Caldari).
You attack districts on behalf of said factions, District control determines control of the planet. Possibly (unconfirmed) a % system where the higher % controls the planet. So for a Planet with 11 Districts, you need to control 6 to have 'control' of that planet for your Faction.
Each planet controlled gives your Faction a bonus % of Victory Points required to complete their objectives.
If your Faction controls the Space Sov, the enemy require more % of victory points to gain control for each planet you control, whereas, if you're attacking, the % of victory points required to conquer the system is reduced for each planet controlled.
Note: CCP has said any and all facts, or details are subject to change, so the above system may be outdated, or enhanced in other ways beyond this scope.
It should be noted also, that using this system, it is impossible for DUST mercs alone to conquer Systems without EVE players. Thus keeping EVE fully functional without DUST interaction, and DUST able to wage war without EVE support if they so chose. |
