They should go the route of MAG and give varying points for rezzing people at different %, making people want to have the better equip. Seriously who does something for the benefit for others? Deffenitly not blueberries! A very good point indeed. As one of the few that actually cares enough to level up an equip an 80% medkit on my proto fit, expensive as it is, I feel that gaining different amounts of WP, or more importantly ISK, for the different medkits is proper. Perhaps just make it +30, +50 and +80 for the different needles? Many of the dedicated Logi suit support players only use the 30%, just so that they have more armor to rep so that they will gain more points from it, not a good habit in my opinion. I really don't care about all the point whoring, whats the point? I get so close to the cap after 5 hours of play anyway so getting as much points as possible is, well, pointless. Another huge benefit from the 80% medkit is the survivability rate of the "victim" in a "semi" firefight. I can pick up a heavy, use him a second as a shield, then switch to my AR and finish the attacker off before the heavy is dead again, good times.
If that's right for medic, it is too for nanohives, dropuplinks, weapons ...
You spend so much in a duvoile to kill faster that it needs to be reward. You spend so much in a proto nanohive to refill faster that it needs to be reward....
ISK reward, ok, SP no !!! |

Not the same. Its a major difference between giving yourself a boost rather than giving your team mates a "boost". I want this implemented to better encourage teamplay, for its quite idiotic that its the 30% needle that is the norm. Rewarding people for what they do to get ahead is not neccissary, people will do what they can to get the upper hand regardless. |

Well, as you said, it fitted well on MAG, but in a logic way, you can't apply this on DUST only for medics... I really know what you're talking about, but everyone is playing a different role, and everyone wants to be reward for his ISK spent and his skills training. It won't be fair to apply this only to medics.
As I still play A-series Logi, I keep the 50% revive, but on my future proto suit, I'll have the 80%. And as a Logi, I want to be reward better with a better injector. But it's not fair for the rest of the market.
And as I said on another thread, proto suits are not suppose to be deploy all the time on instant battle, in High Sec. Too many risks for small rewards... And I think it's the way it has to be.
In High Sec, you're playing for SP, so you try to boost your WP. In Low Sec, you just need to win, for ISK, glory, conquest whatever... So it is the interest of being heal at 80%, having quick refills, 3 active uplinks with a 50% reduce spawn time, a better large turret on your tank etc, etc, etc....

I'm loving the comparisons to actual combat triage (TCCC, any Corpsman out there?). My main in any multiplayer FPS is always some form of medic and I really appreciate that Dust is going in a direction where the Doc will be appreciated not just in the instance of a single battle but for all battles there after as saving a clone has positive financial reprocutions for the person saved, its one more fit for the next battle. That is awesome.
And remember, the best preventative medicine is bullets down range! |

I like being a media in most games , or running around with a reviver for my squad. This game really just doesn't want a medic class in my opinion. 8 out of 10 times reviving someone always leads in your death because of its a sniper trap or the only reason why there is a needle sign is because someone is in the area . about 7 out of 10 times the medic will rez you to just die wasting another life and stat.
Dust has to little players to make a medic have to drop his gun and hover over another player. With such high hit points suppression covering fire from one team mate is pointless. Also you can die and respawn in 3 secs kinda makes impatient players . |
