Hey guys, Free Healing here with the first of, hopefully, many installments of my "How to Use" guides for our newer members.
Anyway lets get started.
Triage, a name we all see in game. First as the "Assault - Triage" [Starter Fit] That we are given to use for free when we first start the game. We see it for the second time when we are defeated and combat. "Stand by - Triage Unit Detected nearby." Is for some a message of frustration and for others, a message of hope. For some, a message we see all to often. For others, a message seen far too rarely. But what does "Triage" mean? What does it mean to be a "Triage Unit"? Well I'm going to tell you exactly that as well as some handy tips for operating under the name "Triage".
Triage, is the name given to those few on the battlefield that carry a tool capable of bringing men who stand at death's door, back into the glory of combat. This tool is called a Nanite Injector. This tool is literally the difference between life and death for you and your Squad. Logistic Players should carry one AT ALL TIMES!!!
The Nanite Injector delivers an active helix directly into the bloodstream of the downed victim, whereupon individual sub-units work to suppress the pain response, repair tissue and organ damage, and reestablish regular cardiac rhythm If administered in time, first-phase resuscitation (defined as "minimum-essential combat functionality") is typically achievable, though some psychological trauma is to be expected. -DUST 514
MILLTIA Nanite Injectors:
(No Prerequisites)
Militia Nanite Injector - 20CPU / 4PG / 690 ISK (30% Armor restored on Revive.)
Militia Nanite Injector[BPO] - 20CPU / 4PG / 30 Aur (30% Armor restored on Revive.)
BASIC Nanite Injectors:
(Circuity III) (Nanocircuitry I)
Nanite Injector - 15CPU / 2PG / 4,000 ISK (30% Armor restored on Revive.)
ADVANCED Nanite Injectors:
(Circuitry III) (Nanocircuitry III)
KIN-012 Nanite Injector - 32CPU / 4PG / 12,160 ISK (50% Armor restored on Revive.)
"Necromancer" KIN-012 Nanite Injector - 48CPU / 8PG / 80 Aur (80% Armor restored on Revive.)
PROTOTYPE Nanite Injectors:
(Circuitry III) (Nanocircuitry V)
Wiyrkomi Nanite Injector - 48CPU / 8PG / 25,560 ISK (80% Armor restored on Revive.)
HOW TO USE:
Step 1: Equiping the Nanite Injector.
-Open up your NeoCom (L1) and go to your "FITTING" tab. -From "FITTING" select the "DROPSUIT FITTING" tab. -Once in the "DROPSUIT FITTING" menu, select which dropsuit you'd like to place your Nanite Injector in. Making sure that the Dropsuit your selecting has an Equipment Slot as well as enough CPU and PG to handle the Nanite Injector. -After you figure out which dropsuit you'd like to equip your Nanite Injector on. Select the Dropsuit and press X. -Press "Edit" -Select one of your equipment slots using the Right Analog Stick on your PS3 Controller to highlight on of the Equipment Boxes to the bottom right of the menu. (They look like small circles with protruding rods.) Then press X. -Select the Nanite Injector you wish to fit from the list provided and press X. If you cannot find your Nanite Injector please return to the market and make sure you purchased at least one. If the Nanite Injector is highlighted in RED it means that you don't meet the prerequisite skill level to use that Nanite Injector. -Once you are finished with your Edit, you may exit the menu ready to go into battle with your new Nanite Injector.
Step 2: Using your Nanite Injector in Combat.
-While in combat Press and Hold R2 on your PS3 Controller to bring up the Equipment Wheel. -Use the Right Analog Stick to highlight you Nanite Injector from the wheel. -Once Highlighted, let go of R2 and you should exit the menu, holding your Nanite Injector in your hand. -Proceed to your fallen Ally and press R1 while standing in the correct spot, to revive him.
"Triage Tactics - by Free Healing"
The Sweet Spot - Right now the game is a little bit clunky. When an ally falls you will see a small icon resembling a blue syringe marking the Spot where your ally died on your HUD and on your Radar. Sometimes, the game requires you to revive your ally near the exact spot where they died. If their body fell, the game may require you to go to their body to revive them. It's all somewhat random.
Running with Scissors, Dancing with Needles - Because of issues detailed in "The Sweet Spot" the most effective way to revive a player quickly is to rapidly tap the R1 button while moving around the downed players body trying to hit the spot that the system designates. This spot is also represented by the "Press R1 to Revive" message that pops up when your at the right place. It's honestly more effective to "Dance" around the fallen player while spamming R1 than it is to wait for that message to appear telling you that you can now stick them like the piece of meat they are.
I NEED COVER FIRE!!! - If you see a Squadmate fall to an enemy in front of you, DO NOT proceed to pick that ally up immediately. You should, instead, try to defeat the enemy that took down your ally or wait for allies to come back you up and lay down suppressive fire, so that you can move in and revive your teammate.
Corners are your friend - There are cases where your allies will be shooting from around a corner and then be shot from a long distance. If your near that corner, but still behind cover, you may be able to crouch down and revive the fallen player by getting close to his feet, which would be the place that he died.

Sometimes... it's just not worth it - When your ally decides to run off into the middle of a field and gets his head shot off by 3 enemies, don't just rush in there. The most likely scenario is that you rush in trying to revive him and end up dying too. within seconds, you have to decide whether or not you can make it to the fallen ally and, most importantly, get both of you back to cover safely. If you feel the area is too hot, just don't do it. There are other players relying on you to revive them later.
Not so close bro! - When you revive someone it's important that you immediately try to move away from them. The system will recognize you as standing on top of the person you revive, which leads to bugs and glitches where you look as if your stuck to the other player. This can be a problem when your taking fire. If possible, utilize the jump mechanic to get away from the other player more easily. The quicker you can get away from him, the quicker he can make it to cover.
Ready for round TWO! - At this point in the game, no Nanite injector will revive a player with 100% of their Armor HP. If you carry a Repair Tool with you, it's a good idea to immediately switch to it after you've completed the Revive animation so that you can repair your ally while he's moving into cover and get him ready to strike back at the enemy.
What you have just finished reading is the knowledge i have gathered over my extensive time in the game regarding Nanite Injectors. I hope that this helps you even in some small way. And i wish everyone who reads this the best of luck in their endeavors. As always...

Depending on the suit you have, two or three equipment slots can be used. I have three slots, #1 is the injector #2 is the nanhive(with armor repairing #3 is he triage repair tool.
I find it easier to have it in that order because i can switch quicker between NI & RT. If you have the NI in hand and start taking fire, you can tap R2 and switch to you gun instead of going through the wheel.
For the most part, the revive mechanic has been fixed so you dont really have to dance around the body to revive them. |

While that is mostly true, it is still the case for Vehicles that the body may be moved away from where it's telling you to stick your needle. Which is why i kept it as is.

Location is still a little wonky. I do however like waiting and seeing some Logi stab the ground several meters away and then I pop back up. It is a little distracting but amusing at the same time.
I wish I could look around, sort of understand why not but still.
Edit: I have meant to ask and almost forgot again, thus the edit.
Do the different armor levels produce different WP results? Seems like it should or, at the very least, would make using them make more sense. And rewarding. Right now, the cost benefit ratio is hosed. Getting into a better armor rep tool is a better deal by my thinking. 2 reps at once is really cool. Not that I am there yet, but it is a goal. |

Not as of yet, they should to maintain parity with other WP awards in game (most notably kills) but currently do not. If you'd like to speak up in support of changes to the current iteration check out this thread.

I'm feeling like a lot of Logibros still need help with their Nanite Usage. Time to bump this thread.

Thanx for the tutorial :) I have a constant trouble with quickly selecting injector or repair tool on "The Wheel". It takes several attempts as focus dances frantically between two choices. What's your advice?
