Well its painful thatGÇÖs for sure. Grinding the SP up in all those horrible scout suits till you finally get one worth something was pure murder. Of all the suits I honestly think the jump from advanced to proto on the scout class is the most significant. Just having that 3rd shield extender and the ability to fit a few kinetic bioticGÇÖs totally changes the way you can use the suit.
I have hated every single match I have played as a scout until today and I can honestly say I love it now. Being able to take on a lone HMG wielding fatty and grind him down to nothing while jumping in and out of cover has never been so satisfying. Personally I think every scout suit until the proto is almost worthless in comparison and while I expect a flood of GÇ£my sensor dampened shotgun scout suits amazingGÇ¥ I really donGÇÖt care because in my mind any suit that has only one viable weapon system is a sham. Yea I know lazor scouts ok once you hit adv but anything with a lazor is ok lolz.
Now you can roll on out with almost any other sub proto suit and give a good account of yourself but I honestly think the scout suits are terrible (not the proto I think thatGÇÖs fine) and could possible do with a little look at in the future.
Now I understand cloaking is not implemented yet and so perhaps CCP have seen fit to just leave the scout class alone so they can balance with all the cards on the table. So fair eunf if thatGÇÖs the case I guess. I still believe at a competitive level bringing a scout to the table for any sort of combat would be letting your team down.
Anyway Just wanted to say to all the up and coming CQB scouts to stick with it because itGÇÖs worth it in the end.
Ow and one more thing the Type II, B type and VK1 suits are horrible. Why would you play to scouts strengths by throwing armour on it. Lol ccp was it really so hard to come up with a viable variant? Why not a little bonus to base speed at expense of the second gun or how about having a little less profile, better scanning capabilities or just about anything other than making an armour lolfailscout.
For anyone interested IGÇÖm running. 1 x Bedlam SMG 3 x Complex shield extenders 2 x 12 % Kinetic biotics 1 x Enhanced sensor damp No cpu for any equipment with my skills atm but will be putting a 50% nanite injector on in a week or so.
This build is a total blast hence me wanting to share some of the fun. |

9.7 I think or something near that and the SMG is the best I can fit due to CPU but this will change with some SP.
DonGÇÖt get me wrong you still get nailed in a suit like this against anyone thatGÇÖs got great aim IGÇÖm just saying its leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the scout class.
Just my personal findings and as you donGÇÖt see proto scout suits every day I thought I would share it.
TLDR: If youGÇÖre a scout donGÇÖt give up proto is actually ok and ccp your scout variant sucks.

Exile AR would fit easy not looked at any better ones. SMG really seems to better than the AR in close since you can dictate range so easily. |
