However you are correct, shield regulators are a good idea.
Not really.I've taken normal locus grenades and they have only taken off half of my shield.I run a B Series a fair amount of time and I can say that it blows away anything below it if you equip it correctly.

I-Shayz-I wrote:Yeah, shield control is nice. Having 3 high slots on the B series plus 3 complex shield mods is:
205 + 3(66) = 403
When you add the 25% bonus, that gives you an extra 100 shield. Right now at 15% you would only get 60.
Wait,what?
Are we taking about the B Series assault? If so,then I have three complex extenders, and only have my shield control at level 4,and I'm pushing out 467 on my shield.Base shield on B Series assault is 225.Honestly,I would go for level 5,but for 466k SP for a measly 12-13 extra hit points on my shields just isn't worth it right now.

Previously I was using an assault type II with two complex damage mods, a Gek, nanohive, basic CPU upgrade and enhanced armor plates (or whatever it's called, the one with 87 extra HP). That cost me just about 60k. Once I went with the B series, I was able to fit all the same exact stuff for only ~7k more ISK (the suit is 10k more, but the CPU upgrade I no longer needed was something like 3,200).
So now with the B series, I am able to fit what I had previously, plus an additional complex shield extender and basic armor plates. So rather than having something like 360 HP total, I now have over 600 HP. The total cost is roughly 76k.
So far I am enjoying it, but am toying with the notion of losing the armor plates and putting on speed mods. Because with the two plates I have, I am pretty slow and can get out maneuvered/strafed by other assaults and am completely out of my league with a scout. Even with speed upgrades the scouts will still be able to outmaneuver me, but at least I will have a better chance going neck to neck with other assaults. Because I found even with my extra armor, since I was slower I got hit a lot more when strafe shooting other assults. So all that extra HP is sort of moot.
Honestly, running with armor plates is kind of useless to a point.I've tried with enhanced plating paired with a basic repairer, and I've also run without a repairer or plates.Honestly,it's not worth the loss of speed because you still don't have that much armor to begin with,so I do prefer to run without any armor mods.
I'm currently trying double complex regulators.Used it in one match and went 10-0 and didn't get a chance to try it again.I just might like this set up more than the plates as well, but I do have to test it out more.
