Contemplating dropping the SP for the B-Series Assault suit and wanted to get some opinions on it. Only been messing with assaults for maybe 3 weeks after branching out from Heavies. Is the B-Series that much better? I know the Type-II really is so much better than the Type-I but the A-Series has so many more fitting options than the Type-I is there that much of a difference?
To give ya'll a bit of my relevant skills:
Dropsuit Command III CPU Upgrades III Circuitry V Combat Engineering IV Powergrid Upgrades II
Shield Boost Systems IV Shield Control III Shield Enhancements IV
Light Weapon Rapid Reload I Light Weapon Sharpshooter IV Light Weapon Upgrade III Assault Rifle Operation V Assault Rifle Proficiency II Weaponry V
Armor Repair Systems III Armor Upgrades II Field Mechanics V
Would I be better off upgrading some other skills or going with Assault Suit IV? I'll have maybe 200k extra SP this week even with the suit upgrade but is there a bunch of stuff I'm completely overlooking?

just my .02 isk CPU skill is maxed, PG skill is lvl IV and I don't think the extra 2 PG would be worth it right now. Shield recharge skill is IV and the shield boost skill is III but again it's only 5% per level so even if I maxed it the increase in HP would be less than I would get from the Series-B by itself.
Only need another 100K SP so I should have it in an hour or so. |

205 + 3(66) = 403
When you add the 25% bonus, that gives you an extra 100 shield. Right now at 15% you would only get 60. Miss calculation. Shield extenders are not counted to the base shield. Yup. Right now I'd have 259 base shields. If I maxed the skill I'd only have 282. That's another 23 shields but I'd get around 40 HP more just by upgrading the suit. And that shield skill takes a good amount of SP to level up. |

I'm pretty sure flux grenades disable Shield Regulators as well. |

There are two different shield recharge delay times, a normal one, and a longer (10sec) one after total shield depletion. So it would make sense after a flux or sniper hit, since your shields are kittehned, you'll experience the longer delay before recharge. It's built into the dropsuit stats I believe, if you want to see the numbers.
So the shield reg. helps out in both cases, regardless of what is hitting your shields, as long as you can get behind cover
It's an interesting question about flux grenades because they are unique in that they don't just damage shields but they disrupt anything electronic. Hives and uplinks are destroyed by them so it makes sense they disable shield regulators as well.
I've been experimenting with different fits on it. Mainly been alternating between an armor plate and 3 shield mods or 2 shield mods and a complex damage mod. With the damage mod I can't fit any grenades but whatever. Gonna mess around with some all shield fits today and see how that goes. |
