I was mightily impressed with chrome when I first started it up. The technical issues that troubled the previous build seemed to have all but disappeared. Over time these issues have come back. And now, thanks to the closer quarters, faster paced combat, the return of hit detection issues is now the worst by far. There is already a thread in which a corp mate of mine was accused of racism after pointing out that these problems seem to be their most severe vs players of a certain nationality. All I will say is that skirmish has seen a rather rapid increase in the use of scout-shotty builds by enormous coincidence with these very players.
Let me be clear; I do not think this is a cheating issue. I think it is a technical issue that a select few people are benefitting enormously from.
All I've heard from CCP so far on this topic, is a disapproval of making accusations about players of particular nationalities. All I ask, is for this bug to be treated as such. |

Clearly. But for a long time after the new build came along, many people cited a reduction in bugs. Now the old stalwarts seem more & more common. If they were there the whole time, most of my corp mates & I didn't notice, or were lucky enough not to encounter them. |

I must say last night in a rather brutal skirmish against you and nina in her VK scout scout I was wondering about hit detection, its either that or the VK scout suit has some form of damage mitigation cause it was as hard to take down as a heavy. |

He can get up to 600hp on that thing, so that's understandable. |

if you believe hit detection hasn't improved then your problem has never been hit detection, the one common factor appears to be holding the controller. |

Hi Chunky, I'm not sure where you're located, but I suspect it's UK? Why do I suspect that? Well, I did some analysis on network issues, and have observed problems which would certainly explain what you're experiencing. Nothing to do with nationality - just a combination of geo-location and bad luck .
I've also fallen prey to builds which emphasise mobility, as it's impossible to hit them effectively with high network lag (you can't track their jerky motions with your crosshair, and even if you can, hit detection works against you). I have also had to stop using high-mobility builds myself, as the fine and fast control they require can't be achieved. In general, if you're on the wrong end of the lag I analysed, you will never be able to out-manoeuvre your enemy.
Attritionist warfare anyone? How very WWI!
Invariably some players will use this to their advantage, and in fairness, they may not even realise that their technique is only working so well for them because of an uneven playing field. |

The only hit detection problems I've ran across that have really bugged me are the melee attacks missing all the time. |

Interesting stuff, altough the problem does seem more apparent "close-in", so a melee attack will logically highlight any problems. Mind if I ask where you're located? |

A lot of the post you linked to was too technical for me. But the conclusions you reached were either a remarkable coincidence, or described my experiences perfectly. Thanks for shedding some light on this. |
