(A sniper rifle is veeeeery risky to have, you really have to count to get to sniping point fast/secret AND not to get sacked while there. Maybe for points in deep redline or on the hardest to reach mountains.)
Every Logi suit should capitalize in AR (and fast reload as you can't swap to sidearm to finish the 2nd or 3rd bogey).
Don't get me wrong - I'd love to use laser or MD as mentality of logi behind assault grunts would perfectly fit in. But the suit won't allow that without too much handicap.
Logi WILL have to be able to contribute in killing.
I can contribute quite effectively with my sever logi suit with exo MD. But i also have 2 SP in AR wlll eventually go to 3 so i can use Adv ARs.
The trick is to make good use of supply depots on the way to objectives, depending on the number of enemies and the amount of cover i will either bring an AR or the MD its purely situational. But a MD with weaponry 5 can do a crap ton of damage and contribute to the kill score, you just have to know how to use it and cant play like your wielding an AR, you have to come around corners and surprise attack enemies, and before you even think of firing a MD shot you better first toss a flux. Nothing forces ppl to cover and to cower like sissies than a flux, especially when its followed by MD volleys.
But yes AR is good to have for the first week or 2 in your logi build since it takes that much time to build up your circuitry, shield, armor, pg and weapon skills to be a killing machine with an MD and not skimp on equipment/modules.
Edit- Though im not specced into LR with my logi i am with my assault and i immediately now see how this weapon could be useful for performing primary logi functions. Since often the greatest obstacle to rev/rep a teammate is enemies at range that are camping the body, THe LR can greatly push them pack or outright kill them buying you enough time to rev/rep. As far as dealing with enemies in close, laying down a hive and spamming M1 Locus nades will certainly "pave the road" so there are ways to make a LR without a sidearm workable as a Logi, i just dont find it practical because my style of play as a logi is to support but also kill especially in cqc, i love my MD cause it allows me to do both. |
