Just my luck. My very first ambush and I have to run into them. I see a random red dot scout running around and I think this is great. I run upto him and try shooting him with my militia AR. Doink! Nothing happens. He turns and fires. And within a second I am dead. Killed by an Exile. So... that was pretty much the situation of the entire game. I ended up 2 - 9 in that game.

Next Step: Upgrade Mechanics to Level 3. Yay! More hit points. Buy another merc pack for the Toxin.

Match 2: I decided skirmish would be better for me. Apparently not. Team stack again. I sneak up on this dude hacking an objective. Spray and pray with my toxin. Hardly any damage and the clip is empty. He turns around and I am dead the next second. Pretty much the entire scenario that game too. Although I did a tad bit better and went 3-5

Next Step: CQC is not for me right now. Upgrade laser rifle to level 1

Match 3: Much better. I manage to climb up the platform on the 4 point map. Not cruely team stacked this time. I go 6 - 1.

Next Step: Eff this crap! I am going back to my primary.

Learnings:

1. Dust is not a place for randoms and noobs this late into a build. If an experienced player like me can get destroyed so easily, noobs will be raped. This goes back to what I was saying about noob only zones or match making based on skills.
2. Match making is horribad. I have seen so many corps do a queue sync and team stack other randoms or corps. I mean seriously;- this is a beta. Your win loss ratios aint gonna matter
3. I took out a dude with a Duvolle with my militia AR. Me with almost 250 HP in total took down a dude with almost 500 HP in total and carrying a Duvolle. This was a straight up face to face one on one fight. I should have lost it but for some reason I won. My free equipment should not have been able to do this unless there was a tag team involved.

CCP needs to re-evaluate its match making system. Team stacking and queue syncing in pub matched are becoming common right now. If you want to play as a Corp thats what Corp matches are for.

Just my 0.02 WOOFWOOF Glad to see someone else has a little understanding of my problems with Dust. Although I bought into this beta 6 months ago I only really began building my character this past week and it's been incredibly difficult. Unloading clip after clip of bullets into enemies only to have then turn and fire 1-2 rounds and drop me has been hugely frustrating to say the least. That's the thing with games like this, the ones who have been playing a long time never really understand what it's like for a newbie coming in. A newbie who walks into nothing but frustration and irritation will not be around very long at all.. Hopefully the release build is designed in such a way so that newbies have a chance to grow alongside others in their class rather than fruitlessly attempting to knock down the steel wall of veteran players. If CCP doesn't take this into account then I have a feeling this game will live a very short life on PS3 and never make it to the PS4/Orbis (whatever they call it.

Mixing them both in the same match is a poor solution IMHO, equalizing weapons/gear/etc for all is a poor solution IMHO...the best way to do it is to set up matches in such a way where same level players are pitted against same level players (or close to). I personally would rather see it done in a way that certain battles are only available for each level of player. Some kind of auto-matching system might be OK too I guess although it's not my first choice. I've seen some suggestions for having mixed matches where both sides have equal numbers of low-levels and high-levels and I get the thinking of that but I think the reality of it would be a disaster. Whatever is done in the end I'm sure CCP has considered all things and will implement a satisfactory solution. Well....at least I hope so! One good thing about a game like this is that if one system is implemented and proves to be a problem they can make changes at any time to try out something new. One of my favorite aspects of an MMO is the constant evolution of the game allows much more freedom than the average console game.

If that's not enough to make my point then I would also like to point out that many (and I mean MANY) times I've happened to catch an enemy in the process of hacking a letter. I always love these moments because it's quite comical to me the way a person will simply stand there continuing his attempt to hack an object even though it's a fruitless attempt. Even if he does happen to get the object hacked before I kill him, he should know that I'm just going to rehack it once he's dead and before he gets the points for the hack. Still....they keep standing there like dildos, trying to finish off those last few blue boxes before dying. Anyway...when this happens, and I catch a criminal in the act of hacking a letter, I am often afforded the opportunity to plant the barrel of my weapon right against his temple for a dump of hot bullets into his skull. Now I won't say that it's impossible for me to miss at this range, but I would venture to say that shooting a stationary target at point blank range (or near that), shouldn't allow me to waste too many of my bullets. Not always, but sometimes...and more often than I'm comfortable with...I have unloaded a full clip of bullets into an enemy in the manner recently described, without the satisfaction of seeing him hit the ground dead. So, I'm going to have to humbly disagree with your claim that every weapon currently carries enough bullets in a clip to off any player. Yes...every weapon does probably have enough total storage capacity to off any enemy...but it's completely possible to unload a full clip of ammo into an enemy and not kill him. I'm not sure what bonuses are being used by the enemy at the times this has happened to me, but it has happened on more than one occasion that I've dumped one complete clip into a stationary enemy at point blank range and ended up being the one killed while I'm trying to reload. Perhaps I will set up the game recorder tomorrow to get some footage of it happening. Of course I couldn't post something of the sort on Youtube or anything but it might be within the NDA to share such a video with other beta testers (would need to check on that 1st though). I think maybe some folks who have been playing this beta regularly for the past several months are just not able to understand exactly how weak newbies are against well established players. Sometimes ability or skill or whatever you want to call it, just isn't quite enough to compete with gear in a game like this. Especially when 2 somewhat equally 'skilled' players face off and one has 5-6 months of weapon/gear advantage over the other. Some of these guys just don't get that.

I wondered how there could be so many ignorant people in this forum that took it upon themselves to assume I had no FPS experience. Yes, I definitely agree that I need to build on my in-game skill sets. The mistake I made was when I started really playing this game recently I didn't have much idea of how to invest my SP so I foolishly wasted many of them in several areas that didn't benefit me at all. I've been regretting it since that first day I blew my first 1.2 million SP. Waiting for a character reset ( I've read it's coming soon) so I can re-distribute my SP into more appropriate areas related to my own play style. I have much to learn still about this game. I bought into the beta 6 months ago but only played a few rounds a month until this past week or so when I finally decided to start getting serious about it and see what it's all about. Had I taken a bit of time to research I might be doing quite a bit better in 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 confrontations. However, researching and studying games isn't really my style...jumping in with both feet and completely blind is! I get into more trouble that way...especially in MMOs. But I always end up getting it all figured out eventually. I've played many MMOs over the past 15 years or so and I've played even more shooters over an even longer time so was really looking forward to this game combining the two worlds.
