If there is a daily cap it is not measured in any trackable way. two weeks in a row, pre-booster sp gains are at 10,000 or more per match, then very sharply start dropping. lay off the game for 48 hours, no noticable increase of SP from this magical daily reset we have been told was implemented.
What CCP say and what seems to be happening is verra different. pre booster sp for first match where i performed pretty well, made an hav panic with my forge and murdered a buncha poor bastards with a scout shotty was... 1900 or so.
So uh... im not seeing a daily cap. im seeing a rather sharp drop curve that does not reset each day.
Its a bit flaky. everyone else has commented on this to death, but the sitch stands. Ccp may have implemented a daily cap, but the definition of daily seems to not mesh with my understanding of the word and the way sp seems to track basically makes it clear that effort has diminishing returns. this is going to turn off a lot of people if they dont just get the "youre active capped for the week. all further sp gains will be passive only.
This active SP gain bell curve could very well be a daily cap. unfortunately the application and presentation to the player comes off as disingenious and dishonest. many people will accept a cap and still go back for more shooting. i am cheerfully one of those people who will, but this system that is in place also fosters a feeling of diminishing interest that begins wednesday and peters out by friday.
Bad mechanic no matter how you cut it for player retention, and needs some work. |

Oh, its kinda hard to tell if the system is bugging out or exploitable if we dont have the first clue how it works officially.
Right now Im telling people in the beta who listen that the skill cap is influenced by CCP Blam! Checking the magic 8 ball before maintenance each night.

I haven't seen any mention of a daily cap. I've always thought it was weekly. |

I'm down to few hundred SP on matches where I go 22/0 with 300k ISK... |

In reference to daily cap, linking dev post. Dunno whats going on but my feedback is definitely in favor of finding some other way to regulate SP gains.
The current method is frustrating and while I doubt theres malicious intent here, calling it a daily cap comes off as a dishonest statement because of how things report and set up in the game. Either that or some of us are really misreading the data available.
