I don't know if this has been suggested before, I didn't check ... but ...
A simple way to reduce vehicle spamming is to make the person who owns the vehicle lose the WP the vehicle is worth when it is destroyed. So if destroying a LAV awards 40WP to the person who destroys it, the person who loses it loses 40 WP. If a "blue dot" takes your vehicle then ownership of vehicle changes to him and you lose no WP. This would not completely eliminate the spamming of LAV's, but it would reduce the number of people calling one in to drive it somewhere and abandoning it to blow up on its own. I know the Heavies out there won't like this idea because they "need" LAV's to get around and the "free" LAV's get destroyed with one hit, but if they invest in better LAV skills they can get LAV's that can withstand a hit or two from a AV weapon. This would also reduce the problem of too many LAV's on the field so that Tankers can't call in a HAV.
And if destroying a HAV awards 150WP to the one who destroys it, the person who loses it loses 150 WP. I know Tankers will hate this, but most good tank operators can get 20 kills before their HAV is destroyed and losing 150 WP would only equate to 3 kills missed. This would help to keep the HAV operators from dominating the top of the game rankings all the time and even out the WP scores a slight bit.
Just an idea I had, not thought out completely, but perhaps together we can flesh this concept out into something that has real merit and can be implemented in a future build.
Please offer comments / suggestions / improvements ... and of course those of you predisposed to unconstructive criticism, please tell everyone what an idiot I am for even thinking of this ...
(I'm hoping that at least someone will try to offer ideas on this subject and not just flame me) |

But what if you bought it?What if you get sniped before it arrives and no one takes it? Tough Luck? Oh well? There's gotta be a better way.
Therefore, My solution: The Free LAV are either
A) Limited per battle. A player has an allowance of Free LAVs per battle, two per say. B) Equipped with cheap show room parts. After a certain amount of time of vehicle use, the motors will wear out because they are extra cheap and meant only for mild strain, like drives across space stations. C) Have a map limit of maybe two per team in use. D) Lower Max Speed E) Have much poorer qualities, such as worse handling, traction, suspension, etc.
Don't hate on the vehicles someone purchases too. They already paid the price tag. It's theirs, not the team's. You get WP for helping your team/cause, not for you're personal assets. |

Originally CCP intended for vehicles to be bought on the battlefield with WP (You buy for the vehicles, but to get them there you need the WP).
Really, thye just need to make all vehicles require a cost so people lose something when they die. |

Really, thye just need to make all vehicles require a cost so people lose something when they die. Nah this was a dumb idea which the "community" came up. And like i sayd its very dumb and unfair against players who specced into vehicles and not infantry. Another problem would be that only good teams will ever have vehicles which makes it even more unbalanced. Worst concept ive ver heard off. When i payd for the vehicle then i want to use it at any given time. |

I believe CCP announced the idea back in their 2009 video and not much has been heard of it since. I do agree that its a pretty poor idea.
Currently militia LAVs cost nothing and have potentially infinite killing power as even a slow collition will kill any infantry. Tanks major problem is that they fill every roll. They should be changed so they work more in claiming lan and supporting infantry rather that being a solopwnmobile (their HP should be increased and acceleration reduced as well) |

Please stop whining about vehicles , they were nerfed heavily; if the militia LAV costs nothing then so does the militia swarm get off your lazy ass and grab one of those , thank you for littering the forums. |

I've actually got a solution. We remove vehicles from the game entirely. Actually, no, we only have tanks, nothing else, just everyone spawns as a tank. |

I too prefer to destroy obsolete equipment on the batlefield, preferrably by parking it in areas of heavy enemy traffic so i can blow it up with my forge the instant the hack completes and kill the thief.
But generally i only do that like once in a map.
Its like a baitship, only not. |

Am I missing something? Miltia Vehicles are easy marks...free points. The maps are way too big for foot soldiers...Can you imagine being redlined against and being punished for trying to sneak or race a LAV thru the line to get a uplink or letter? I play often and yet to see LAVs dominate the field...
LAVs that have modules and SP and take multiple hits...yes, free miltia LAVs, no. |

I always thought this was a good idea as well but then what is a fair price for a bottom end lav. In order for this to work it would have to cost enough for a person to actually think twice about calling one in just to ghost ride it. |

Hopefully less than a level 1 dropsuit fit for a free WP delivery jeep.
Thats all they do, since they have a life expectancy of about a minute. |
