So I'm looking at buying a new 'Assault' dropsuit. All I'm qualified for right now is a Type-1 suit and I see there are 5 different options to choose from. What I don't see is any difference in specs for any of them. All 5 Type-1 dropsuits appear to be the same exact suit with different names.
My first inclination was to buy the most expensive one available, figuring it would provide the best protection, most carrying capacity, etc. However, after checking the specs, they all have the same numbers. What's the benefit of paying 12,800 AUR for a 'RAVEN' suit when I can spend a paltry 6,800 ISK for the standard Type-1 Assault suit and have the same specs?
Could someone please help make sense of this? |

the aur suit is unlimited and will not require you to buy anymore type I suits. In other words it will save you isk. the other aur suits are 1 time use and just have different colors. :) |

OK...so then, why buy the 12,800 AUR and not the 50 AUR? If both are unlimited then why spend the extra cash?
EDIT:
OK...forget this. I see where you already answered it. The 50 AUR suits are not unlimited...just different designs/colors/etc.
Would be nice to know where to find all of this info though. Seems like it should be in the descriptions so that you know whether you're buying an unlimited AUR item or just paying for design. |

Also...since this is new info to me...is that the same with all AUR items? Meaning..all AUR items are unlimited? Or is it just the dropsuits? |

The suits like the raven are unlimited because of the price the 50aur ones are one time use. |

Ya...sorry, I edited that question after I re-read the post.
Still seems like they could/should have put this sort of info in the description. How is one to know whether they are buying an unlimited item or not if it's not made clear during the purchase? Not everyone (like me) is going to want to search out and read every little nuance and instruction for every item in the game.
Most gamers I know don't really like to spend hours pouring through 1,000 page manuals before playing a game.

Unlimited items have their picture outline in blue. These are known as BPOs (Blueprint Original), with many examples under the militia gear section of the market place.
To answer your earlier question, players have three options when purchasing standard dropsuits: - Spend ISK (And save your Aurum for other things) on dropsuits. One copy of the dropsuit will be deleted when you die - Spend 50 Aurum (And save your ISK for other things) on dropsuits. One copy of the dropsuit will be deleted when you die - Spend 12,000 Aurum (And save your ISK for other things) on dropsuits. This suit will never be deleted.
To be clear, this can only be done with type I dropsuits - Aurum spent on weapons or modules are only useful in that they have lower PG/CPU costs, or can save you ISK for when you need it more. Hope this helps, and I hope to see you out there soon. Take care,

They kinda did. If you notice the Blue Box surrounding the Raven Suit that item is called a Blueprint which means that it never goes out of stock. I believe it was addressed during one of the Tutorials albeit briefly.
You can also find Militia BPO (Blue Print Original) in the market place in the Militia Gear Tab. They are also sometimes rewards for tester events like the Weapon Sales event where everybody that logged in got a free BPO "Exile" Assault Rifle.

Thank you all very much! I was unaware of the BPO thing.
I started playing this beta the first week it became available in the PSN Store but the past couple days has been the first time I really took it seriously at all and this is the first time I've really been interested in working on building a character. Up until now I've just been logging on every couple weeks or so to see if it's looking any better.
When the game was first announced there were many of my MAG clan mates who showed interest but I have yet to find any of them actually participating in the beta so no idea how that's going to pan out. So...I've just not had much interest in jumping in with both feet...not knowing anyone playing and all. Hopefully will make some new friends over the coming days/weeks, and find some place to fit in.
Thanks again for the info and all of the help with this topic. I know it's my own fault for not keeping up on things but it's been difficult trying to stay interested when none of my friends are playing. |

Find me in local chat or add me as a Playstation friend (PSN: PiercingSerenity) and we'll roll together. This game is a lot more fun when you don't have to grind for weeks until you're good enough to hold your own.
Take care,

I think you'll find that most of the difference between dropsuits is in how many modules each can get fitted. And that alone makes a great difference. |

Blueprint Originals are pernament and outlined in a blue background Regular items are however not outlined on a 'blueprint sheet' and are one use only.
Variants like Raven, Quafe, Skinweave, Carbon, ect ect are alternative colored suits.
Variants like the Type I and Type II are truly different stats/slot layouts for that tier. Higher up its Type A and Type B and vk 0 and vk 1.
Progressively the higher tier suits Type 1 Type A and VK 0 are progressively better in stats and slots keeping up in the same theme. Respectively Type 2 Type B and VK 1 is its own 'tier family' upgrading its theme as it gets higher in tier levels.
It may be possible but one day in the future they may give Type 1 and Type 2 sets different models but I expect this well after they get racial symmetry in.
I hope this answers all your curiosities. |
