Offer up your reviews on weapons you've tried please try to review something you have at least level 3 operation in. don't pick up a militia shotgun and write them all off as "weak". you don't necessarily need to have the advanced versions of the weapons, but it'd give a better perspective. offer pros and cons for each
Tactical Assault rifle; pros; -highly accurate, almost no bullet spread -very high magnification scope -good long range damage (you miss almost no shots to spread, but targets can be rather hard to hit)
cons; -hard to track targets at medium range due to the sensitivity drop when zoomed -zoomed view is very tunnel vision, you have no peripheral, expect to be stabbed -pretty crappy at close range, you're better off switching to a sub machine gun
it's a long range scrambler pistol, or a low damage semi-auto sniper rifle if you'd like to think of it that way. Recommended upgrades; Light weapon sharpshooter (make it a true sniper rifle), assault rifle operation (reduce your kick as much as possible)
Overall; not a very good weapon, it's situational at best so just get a breach AR and don't engage targets at long range

Hey, you should update to chromesome where the Tac AR bullet spread renders your second shot ineffective at the TACs long range. It really makes facing anyone with a Tac a nonissue. Notice how next to noone uses it anymore. This build is all about mass drivers and Laser rifles now. |

Nova knives (operation 1 and after 1 day using it- yeah, you heard me) Awesomely fluid and deadly when in a crowded area, although hit detection seems a little bugged yet when people are moving. The main problem I find with these is that having a high "hand-to-hand combat" skill can kill the average person just as quickly. I OHKed one person hacking a null cannon with the charge attack, then OHKed the other with a regular melee hit. |

The weapon people are callin gover powered: EXO Mass Driver Pros: -Large Aria of Effect -High damage per shot -balistics allow for shooter to fire behind cover Cons: -Low reload rate -small magazine (though it is better in chrome) -balistics are somewhat difficult to get used to for longer ranges
The Mass Driver is a very versatile weapon but unless you have either a good sense of ballistics or lots of practice it can be very hard to aim. It is not a good weapon for 1v1 but for engagements that are 2v2+ it's best role is cover fire and support the camera shake could probably use some tweeks but those people that complain about it have never used a MD and fought 1v1. The camera shake has saved my life but also hasn't done crap at the same time.
Overall: Good mid to short range support weapon. Unless you have lots of practice dont try long range attacks. |

As a Mass Driver ***** ( and proud of it). The best way to get a better long range is to increase Light Weapon Sharpshooter. I have lvl 5 and also Proficiency lvl 2 and it really makes a difference. I've also played as a Demoman from TF2 so ballistics like this is pretty easy. Learn to aim a little higher then you normally would to accommodate distance to target. If we ever get planets with different gravity, can you imagine having to reteach yourself.. LOL.

Forge gun:
Pros High damage High accuracy Long range
Cons V. Expensive Long charge up time Low mobility Low capacity Mid-short range anti infantry is a game of chance & not feasible as a playstyle High volume attracts enemy infantry Every time you are lucky enough to kill someone with one, they complain on the forums that it is OP, despite nobody ever getting high on match leaderboards from their use |

Cons - none Honestly I've very rarely lost a 1v1 to a forge gunner at close range. The only times I've bean beaten in these circumstances is if they get a lucky shot to the body, and I can probably count on one hand the number of times that's happened in the last few months. Most of the time I can survive a couple of shots to the ground, which is more than enough time to kill them. Virtually all my deaths from forge guns are at long range. (Or maybe I've only been meeting mostly crappy players with forge guns in 1v1s) |

Assault Forge Gun (I have Forge Gun Proficiency 3)
Pros -Short Charge Time -Auto-Fires After Charged -Can Chain Shots on a HAV very easily -More Damage than a regular forge gun -It can be used against infantry effectively if you master your skill aiming it and they are not in their weapon's range.
Cons -You can run out of ammo very quickly if you just keep spamming shots one after another (The Auto-Fire makes one prone to this) -It auto-fires (no holding a charge waiting to snipe an enemy leaving cover) -The other cons with a forge gun, everyone wants to kill you and they target you, small clip low ammo, you're slow, and you need infantry support to protect you.
-Skills to get, Heavy Sharpshooting, Max Forge Gun Operation, and SMG skills might make you more self-sufficient. |

Considering the dozens of forge shots I've watched fly past me at close range, it must only be easy for some. That is unless they're considerably more accurate this build, since I don't recall having many of these encounters in the last few days.
Personally I very rarely use forges myself. The only time I use them is with a miltia heavy fitting that I occasionally get out against tanks. |

I find forge gunners very non threatening since their weakness is obviously the fact that you can tell when they're going to fire and you can jump out of the way. As such they are some of my favorite targets, and i win most 1 vs. 1 fights with them at any range and i'm one of the easiest people to kill in this game.
I'm not trying to say that the Forge Gun isn't powerful or can't be used against infantry but it's not a stand alone weapon. In fact, i think it can be said that no weapon that utilizes splash damage is suitable from close-range ground combat. In my personal experience, MD"s and FG"s are only capable of devastating results when they're used from a tall area looking down on their enemies. MD's being better at close-mid range and FG's for long range.

Glu-5 Tactical assault rifle. Cheap enough to use alot, and if you can aim, you can kill things quicker than an AR. Good range, but they fall flat against lasers at extreme range. They are still effective up close however. = D |

Nova Knife skill alone doesn't make the nova knife the best up-close-and-personal tool. Sidearm damage modules, dropsuit and skills regarding stamina and stamina recovery are very important factors. |
