I searched for this on the forums and did not see it anywhere. So if any one has a link to a previously posted thread please post here. Here's my question. With us (meaning dust bunnies) being on the surface of planets what will be our interaction with the preexisting PI from Eve? I have had several Eve pilots ask me what will be happening to their stuff. Will our instillation have automated defenses? Will we even be able to interact with them? Could Eve pilots hire Dust bunnies to protect their assets? Will it only be limited to low and null sec? There are so many possibilities in this. Thoughts? Concerns? Complaints? Please reply. |

Unknown, but I always assumed that the district layout would be determined based on how the PI is set up. |

At the moment, CCP wants to start off with just factional warfare. So I doubt PI would be affected in the current year. Maybe next year we might see it happening. But at the moment we are just taking careful baby steps here because we don't want to **** up Eve Online's economy which took 9 years to perfect. |

I'm aware that this will probably not be implemented till much later. But i'm simply curious to hear what others think will happen and how it will be implemented. Will Command Centers be assaultable? Will i be able to hire to defend my structures? If i place a structure in eve will it show on planet immediately? Will it have a timer be for i can destroy it or move it? |

I'm thinking yes. My guess is that each "district" will be a different facility or group of facilities. For example, you might assault a command center that is near the launch pad; both would be close enough together to form a single district. At least that is what I would like to see. |

Well lets also say I have placed structures in a specific district. Now i wish to move it. But its in the dust universe, would there we a timer on the move? like when your trying to remove/delete a character? And i have heard somewhere that the planets will be able to "shoot" back into Eve space. Will this effect fleet battles? |

Perhaps a cooldown timer would be in effect to prevent Eve-side griefing by PI owners who just simply decommission their colonies right as they are about to be attacked.
As for the "shoot back" feature:

EDIT:
In addition, maybe PI owners would be given something similar to the Mercenary market of Eve Online (which covers Eve-side war declarations) so that they can defend themselves from Dust mercs. |

CCP has stated in the past that in the beginning PI and dust will not be linked at all. As that would be too complex to start. But will be integrated as time goes on |

One of the ideas I recall being mentioned in a fanfest clip was making it so there is some kind of bonus for placing a PI command centre inside the borders of a district, which would allow the holder of the district to extract taxes from the PI system while making ppl want to move their systems into the influence of dust. CCP has stated that dust will have only additive effects on eve (ie making it so nothing in eve absolutely requires dust to work), so I think this seems to be the most likely interaction with PI. |

As mentioned it'd a long way off and there are no concrete plans, but they speculated that there might be something like a space elevator added which would affect the shipping prices for PI materials being exported to customs. So if a hostile group controls the space elevator of the planet, then you'd need to pay more to move PI materials off-world.
In any case, it didn't sound like they were going to let Dust completely shut down PI on planets or destroy PI structures or anything. |

You also have to consider the varying security status of every star system out there. More than likely high-sec planets will be protected from such level of interaction while low-sec and null-sec would see the most interaction. |

For those of you who haven't a single clue what PI (planetary interaction) is or how it works, here is a link.

this seems very logical looking at the facts. In the eve overview there are tags that say Capusaleer Bases and Mercenary Bases. Both players have there specific bases for what purpose is unknown. |
