hey bunnies!
I was thinking, in order to make the interaction of dust and eve players more meaningful then shooting from the sky, how about installation drops?
its already known that when the time comes, players will be able to call down installations from the warbarge, but how about eve players?
We could have the current modal where the warbarge places militia level installations, while the better ones can be built and deployed for eve players. perhaps for war points (less than a OB of course )
I also think that an interface for eve players that show the warpoints accumulated from the squads and what can be used can help an eve player get ready for when they can fire.
Thoughts? |

Although a part of me is averse to anything that sounds like something from CoD re: squad killstreaks. |

true, but there needs to be some sort of restrictive system so that people with eve support dont spam the battlefield with obs and installations :P |

I like it, I wouldn't be adverse to having planetary modules in my cargo hold for you. |

Installations are called from the War Barge? That's news to me. I was pretty sure that they came from the MCC. Then again, I'm probably right. Installations would either take a long time to be launched from orbit, or wouldn't survive. I think it would be best if everything still came from the MCC. |

Installations come from the Warbarge. The reason they don't burn up is they have shielding. MCCs are pretty big already, if they had to carry everything possible then they'd start getting on to carrier size or bigger. |

have you ever looked at them coming down?
they fall from very very very high up in the sky, no where near the MCC |

Like I said....straight down from orbit. Now that would be an interesting way to get into the fight. |

As long as you can aim+shoot, yes please :)
Meanwhile: Drops and whatnut from space should have a cool-down timer to keep anyone from spamming (although costs should also limit spam), and a loading-time.... Dropping a turret should take a moment or 2, just to prep the damn thing. |

Kind hard to aim and shoot when you're dropping out of the sky at many meters per second. Also, yes cool down timer for drops is definitely needed. Kind of like jettison containers take 2 minutes and 30 seconds to get a new can in place. |

Shouldn't be tooo hard getting a swarm-lock during a HALO jump
2 minutes cool-down time, and 30 seconds load time seems reasonable.
Then going to be fun trying to hit a HAV with a missile-turret dropping from the heavens. No, not the missiles, but hitting it with the actual turret ;) If you miss it, there is still a turrent, which is about to fire on the HAV. |
