Does anybody (ccp included) know what the SP plan of action is?
Do we have a weekly cap? Daily sub-cap? Rolling virtual dice total offset by temperature or what?
I have an augment going on that I really regret starting. As far as I can tell bonus augments are totally broken and useless. You will hit the cap anyway. So while you are making points early it is like speeding up your broadband speed but keeping the data cap the same. Leave the speed the same and give me 1.5 on my cap. Then I can play longer without feeling hosed.
If the SP cap is X why does is say the augment is granting 1.5 X? When you play early after a reset it give numbers out that say 1.5 X but over the course of a few days the totals sink close to nothing. Specifically, under 1000 with an augment.
Some level 4 and 5 skills cost an amazing amount of SP. Fine, but I am having to spend SP in AR and other skills just to stay alive while building up the areas I actually want to play. This character is going down the AR/Heavy path but my pilot needs another 1 to 1.5M SP just so the ships are available to buy. Until then assault has to be bumped up so the chance to be there at the end is higher.
Just tell us. What is it? When does it reset? Whose job is it to tell the marketing types that augmenting doesn't actually work since the SP cap cuts out much of the alleged increase?
Then I can play a few days, hit the SP cap and bail. Then go get my self slaughtered in Dark Souls where death is the main purpose. Better then wasting three days of play and augmented play at that, at insignificant reward levels.
Edit: Sorry, one more thing. Is the cap tied to me or my three characters separately? Because, it seems to me that it is tied to me personally. Which defeats the entire purpose of having three characters. |

SP cap is supposedly daily now (or suppose to be), so I've read. And when you throw an active booster on it's suppose to raise the sp cap as well (so say a weekly update post from dev's). Either a Dev or GM posted in a thread a few days ago the SP system is working as intended. That was after chromosome was released... And I was under the assumption that the caps were based off of individual characters, not player accounts... But I only have one character so I'm no use for personal experience on that one. I would link the threads where all this info is but I'm posting from my phone and it's a pain in the arse so it's not gunna happen. Good luck. |

In the long term this has been an interesting project. I got to file bug reports. Meet (sort of) some interesting people but the structure of SP sounds like it will kill the game for me in the long term.
A daily SP means I have to play everyday. If it is for myself (as I suspect) then I get to play one character every third day. If it is by character then I have to restart the game three times, each and every stinking day. That just sucks. I just tried my pilot and nobody is playing but there are no points either. Being in a corp is a waste of time. Either all my chars wind up in the same corp or the corp gets let down every time I try to build another one up.
Weekly SP cap I could deal with. It would give me time to catch up but with daily once you are behind you can never catch up. God forgive you if you have a vacation or the flu.
Well, they are going to wipe these characters anyway so I have to wonder why I am investing this much effort into a throw away.
I started this thread as Thranx1231 and finish it as my pilot. Seems odd to me but it is okay.
